1989 buick regal custom 2.8L is having trouble accellerating. it rides rough and loud. Allready tested the heads and compression, all is fine there. tested the plugs and replaced them just for good measure; only one is firing a little wierd, but after replacing the wiring that seems to have gone. when the car accellerates it rocks, and will sometimes stall out and shut down when at a stop. has a minor exhaust problem with the donut gasket, but nothing that cant be fixed with a replacement.
Car wont start i had the started check put a new battery in what should be my next step?
2.8 ARE HARD TO DIAGNOSE. OK FIRST. MAKE SURE FUEL PRESURE IS GOOD ALL SO DISCONNECT FUEL REGULATOR VACCUM LINE AND MAKE SURE IT IS NOT LEAKING OUT OF THE REGULATOR CLEAN UP ALL GROUNDS. IF THAT GOOD NOW YOU TEST FOR SPARK AT PLUG AND CHECK PULCE IT INJECTOR.IF THIS ENGINE HAS A MECHANICAL PROBLEM YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME IT WILL NOT START.OK GOOD LUCK
