I bought a new keyless entry remote from iKeyless.com, and the instruction were less than complete. It says to find "the module with a red or white button" and push button. It doesn't say where to look!
Never seen one myself , but the schematics in alldata manual shows it to be "LOWER LEFT SIDE OF DASH" . a clue may be the wires , 8 wires . they are pink/green , pink , black/white , blue/green , black/red , black , red/blue , and a white . as a tech i say , welcome to our world , lol .cheers .
i found this googling your delema , and saw a picture of a power door lock controller , no mention if controller and module is the same thing , i have a felling it is , if so its located , behind the dash about where your key would poke into your ignition area .
FROM A FORUM QUOTE >>>>
Does your Vitara already have the keyless module, LOCATED UNDER THE DRIVERS SIDE DASH? If you're just missing the
remotes and not the remotes and the module, you should be able to
purchase your remotes for your model year and 'program' them to your
existing keyless module.
Find the module and the 'white' or 'red' button next to the LED on the
module. Turn on the ignition switch -- push the button on the module --
push a button on each remote (one remote at a time) -- let the module
'learn' mode time out (within 3-5 seconds) -- try your remote(s).:)
This is the procedure for the 2000 and older

Thanks. I bought a keyless remote clone from iKeyless.com and they sent me the same language you included from a forum quote about the procedure, except it didn't include the "under driver's side dash" part! I'll stick my head under when Honey comes home with the car. Thanks again to all who responded.
