Several cars lately have had the same symptoms, and the problem turned out to be a bad ignition switch.
Since the ignition switch goes directly to the battery, it's worth a check.
Hope this helps.

I have a 2014 dodge dart sxt 2.4L. I had problems a few months ago where my car would start fine..drive 1 place and turn car off then would not start. Installed new battery and alternator after running...

Seems you have a dead battery. Could be anything related to the charging system (alternator, control, wiring) or the battery itself. It takes a methodic process of testing to determine the cause(s).

Start by having battery tested and charged. If the battery checks ok and holds a charge then "likely" the problem is with the charging system, but it's a multistep process of elimination and very few parts store do a complete full load battery test.

If the battery test fails then you'll need to replace the battery and then promptly have the charging system tested to verify its working or you'll have another dead battery.

Once the battery and charging system has been verified functional you need to have a parasitic current test done. Excessive parasitic draw can ruin a new battery in a few months depending on your driving habits. Is this a daily driver or every other week or longer?

02 kia optima battery keeps dyeing. Ive checked the alternator and its fine..also got a used battery . but it still dies. I can get a jump and it will run until i turn it off. Than i need a jump again

Probably needs a new battery. Have your battery load tested. That is, after its charged, a quick current drain is applied then you test the battery again and see how much charge is left. If the load test comes back at anything less than 80% of full charge, then you definitely need anew battery.

Car has no power

the battery must be flat , try a jump start or get a new battery , when you have got engine running get the alternator charge rate checked as could be the reason for flat battery, if charge rate is ok then check to see if anything had been left on whilst car was left

!993 Mazda Miata. First she asked me to give her a jump start she thought she left something on. I boosted her and told her to drive for about a half hour before shutting off car. An hour later she said it...

When you turn the ignition switch to the start position
on any vehicle, there is no dash lights or anything, that is
how it works

Test the ignition switch & the starter & starter relay

Daughter says Car ran fine. She stopped. Car will not start or even turn over. They checked starter it was good. Checked battery it was good. No loose connections.

Mine did the same thing, I had full power with lights, fan, etc but it would NOT do anything when I turned the key. I thought it either had to be the switch or the starter. It was the starter so I had that replaced and a new battery. It's running and starting fine now. Maybe the switch?

2006 Toyota Rav 4-My battery went from fine to dead in :45. Help.

Answering your questions in order:
  1. No, there's no such device to prevent the car from starting; a battery that requires a jump start would require more than 5 minutes running time to recharge. The battery needs to be charged to work again, (unless it has a dead cell, inexpensive battery testers will confirm). A jump start is still possible but wouild require leaving the jumper cables on for at least 15-30 minutes to provide enough of a charge to start the Rav again. Charging on a battery charger is preferable.
  2. Yes; short trips and lack of use will kill a battery over time.
  3. Yes; Here is a link to the basics of checking a charging system http://www.aa1car.com/library/charging_checks.htm
In summary, most should get more than 3 years out of their battery. You've already determined that the acid levels in the battery are good (most don't even check for fluid levels). Constant charging and discharging will kill a battery and this isn't apparent in your case.
If a battery charger isn't handy, try hooking up the jumper cables and leave the other car running for at least 15 minutes. I hope this answers your questions. Best of luck.

Is it my battery?

well this is what you should try ,,jump the car get it running
then when its warmed up take the positive lead of the battery
if the car stops the alternator is gone (thats what charges the battery) if the car runs its fine

and if u have put another new battery in it and the alternator is fine look for any broken wires earths or positives that could be making it drain so quick
and make sure your battery levels are full
hope this helps
