Hi terry, When you say sump cover, do you mean the sump itself or the plastic surrounding attatched to the car's body?

if you have freon full and got power to the relay the you need to check the radiator fan if working if yes the a/c cut off switch should be mounted on the a/c lines if it is two wires disconnected and jump the tow wires togather by small paper clips for few seconds and start the eng put the a/c on if started working good then you have a bad switch for 3 wires switch is to replace
