Installed a Bulldog remote start on my 2006 Sportage. Forgot and locked the door with the key, then unlocked with the remote start. As soon as I opened the doors the horn went crazy and the starter was disabled. The remote start system had no effect in stopping this. Finally figured it out and used the Kia keyfob unlock and then the vehicle would start. Is there anything that i can do so as not to have to carry two remote controls around if i accidentally lock the doors with the key again?

Start Kia sportage with no alarm button

Usually if you use the key in the door lock to lock unlock the door it will disarm the security system on the car, when you unlock the door it has to be the drivers door, lock the door then unlock the door and hold the key in the unlock position for 2 seconds

Opening car with key sets off alarm.

Open up your key and dry it first of all.
Then retry.

Or you could try using your spare set of keys.
