Depends on where thie ticking is coming from. It could be lots of things, lifter ticking warn rocker piviot, piston clearence too loose, wrist pin noise, timing gear chatter, exhaust leak....etc. where is the nosie coming from?

Sounds like you are likely doing the right thing but didn't go far enough. Clean up all the sub-grounds, like the one on the block about 6" to the left of the distributor, the strap between the engine and firewall and any you find on the fenders, especially near the computer.
On all mine, I run a continuous 10gauge ground wire from the battery to all those points and through the firewall to the dash frame. (on boats it's called bonding).
I don't know if it really matters but I have never run into problems created by poor grounding on any Jeep I have including ones I use off-road!
You could try that ...it won't hurt anything and may help you,.

if you've got a few $$ to risk ,try some synthetic oil with new filter ...it often work good for these kind of noise as long as it is not a loud knoking nois ...if it is only a fast clic clic nois it will probably work!

I have a 94 YJ gave me the same issues and I did all you did and more.
Finely I was told that penzoil has a parfin base which lends it self to the cause. I don't know if it is true or not I'm just a shade tree mech. I switched over to full synthetic and WA-LA It took a couple of changes after a good cleaning but I've been TICK free for a over a year now. since I do my own change it helps hold the cost down. I was also told I needed lifters and a rebuild & all that jazz so I figured that if she was gona die I'd deal with that when it happens so far so good.
