shifter needs to be inspected. Its quite possible that The
shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.







There
are many other possibilities. But if it was working right up till now and
suddenly this shifting problem occurred then its shifter
assembly alignment issue.

I agree. Sounds to me like the TCM is bad.

check if break light work if yes, check fuse or break pedal switch

If the RPM's Flare, youv'e gone too long without
recognizing a trans that slips

It will have to come out & be rebuilt,most likely.

Could either be your shifting linkage needs to be adjusted or your transmission solenoids need to be replaced

try taking the center surround out and checking to see there is nothing under the gear selector stopping it from locking in park

This can be caused by a faulty transmission solenoid that's why it's running on limp mode, this will require solenoid replacement.
Have you replaced the torque converter before? If not, then it's a faulty torque converter too. The torque converter controls the shifting of the vehicle that when it's faulty, it stays on a certain gear or won't shift at all. I suggest that you have both checked and replace the necessary parts.

The transmission is nearly dry. Add some transmission fluid! Automatic transmissions require oil pressure for the car to move, and if you don't have enough oil in it, it won't build up enough pressure to move the car
