Throttle body unit control airflow into the engine intake.your airfilter airduct connects to it.it has large clamps hold hold airfilter airduct in place and your accelerator cable and transmission down shift cable connects to it.

ALL Throttle Bodies or throttle control are bolted
to the intake manifold

Think of it as yesterdays carburater

Follow the plastic intake ducting from air filter
to the throttle body

DO NOT install ANY PARTS based on ANY CODES

It doesn't work like that

Codes ONLY point to a system NOT to what to replace

How do I find the stepper motor on a 2003 Buick Rendezvous?

On the Throttle Body

Doubt it failed

Best make sure you have no cylinder misfires
& are not loosing throttle plate data or tps data

DO NOT replace parts
Have a professional road test with scan tool, to look at data

You need to do every thing to learn the vehicles systems
& find a problem & avoid replacing the throttle body, due to
lack of knowledge

Get some CRC Throttle Body Cleaner & read the
back of can

My 2002 Ford Explorer just suddenly started idling very high

You have no local repair shop, to check it out?

No vehicle experience? Never work on them?

I would check for codes & look at scan tool data first

You won't have that capability

What can you do ?

Well, try cleaning the throttle body with CRC Throttle Body Cleaner
follow the instructions on back of can

If it was at a shop recently ,they surely helped put the problem in there with sloppy work,so check the intake ducting from the air
filter box to throttle body & wires on MAF Sensor in ducting

ANY-- Vacuum leaks- could be the problem, anywhere

Exhaust System before converter, throttle body gasket to intake,
evap system leaks, pcv system hose leaks & on & on

It is NOT a failed Throttle Body

FORGET the 2100 ford codes

The problem is bad cop ignition coils

Change the spark plugs
Change any failed coils or all of them
Change the Front Oxygen Sensors at 100,000 miles
Clean MAF Sensor

Clean throttle body --- CRC- throttle body cleaner-instructions
on back of can

In a very very very rare case the TACM Motor may fail
on the throttle body & you have one of the also rare vehicles
that you can actually buy a new motor for, without getting a
$600 throttle body
Those motors Dorman has & Amazon I believe for $75.00

NO reason at all that YOU can not do ALL that work yourself

Part are avail from Rock Auto.Com

Throttle body doesnt take in air when accelarating

The engine is a vacuum pump & a compressor

So it is taking in all the air it needs

Don't know what was accomplished changing a
throttle body

Don't really know if you had a thing tested & how or why

What are the driveability symptoms, who is working on them?

When i stop my jeep wont stay running , cant find the throttle body sensor.

Idle Air Control Solenoid on throttle body,if that
applies

Should be at the base of throttle body & has wires
going to a connector
The other wired connector is up higher & is the TPS
Sensor, that isn't the one your asking about or the problem

You can remove & clean or replace the idle one,if you have
one.
Some vehicles idle are controlled by the computer, if drive
by wire

Throttle body sticking

I doubt that is the case, but you can buy
CRC Throttle Body Cleaner at Wal Mart or
auto parts store & follow instructions on can

Throttle Body Plate rotates on sealed ball bearings
& does not contact the throttle bore,so sticking is
questionable.

Turn the key on & have someone push on the
gas pedal while you watch the throttle plate move

Some of them snap closed when you let off the gas
& then return to where they are set for proper idle

Ok. My F-150 2004 Ford has a rough idle. It will die when i sometimes come to a stop. Took it to a dealer and they put on the computer and they found the throttle body actuator code in the system. Suspect...

What the dealer told you & what they do, is replace
the entire throttle body for no reason, other than they
can't diagnose their own products & they make money
off you

There are no computers used to diagnose or work on any
motor vehicles
A professional scan tool only sees what the PCM (vehicle
computer) sees & that is where all the problems start

A (TACM) throttle actuator control motor ,is part of the
throttle body & is not replaceable & the whole assy is over
$600.00 plus their unnecessary abuse of labor

All you need is spark plugs that do not have over 60,000
miles on them.
Spray the MAF Sensor with CRC MAF Cleaner & the main
problem you have is solved with spraying the sticking throttle
plate with CRC Throttle Body Cleaner, so it works & you do
not loose throttle position or % & get TACM Codes or
get wacked for a Grand by a dealer, which you should never
be at after the warrantee runs out

Also replace the (2) front O2 Sensors at 100,000 miles

How do i clean the throttle body on a 2006 montana sv6? and where is it. thanks

the throttle body is where the black round air recieving hose that goes to the throttle body which is on top of the engine, it normally has 2 medium size metal bands, 1 on each end, that tightened up or loosen. " in order to get to the throttle body, loosen the bands with a screwdriver, then remove the hose, then , you can clean the throttle body, with a throttle body spray cleaner, that you can purchase at a auto parts store.
