There's not any special tools. You need a socket to fit the nut on the end of the axle and a wrench to take the nut and bolt off the bottom ball joint that slides through the control arm. Take a bar, pry down on lower control arm, pulling ball joint out, then pull the upper part out by hand, away from the car, slide axle out of the bearing assembly. Take a pry bar, put between trans and axle, give it a swift, quick ****. The axle should come out. Remember to always put jack stands under the car and be safe. Phil

I need to remove the driver side axle and i cant get it out of tranny

all there is . is a circlip on end of trans axel, it should just pull right out. get a bar behind axel at tranny if possible and try it again. good-luck !! a ouick snap of the bar should remove axel shaft. when putting back in, just push as hard as possible, and check to make sure the circlip is in place. pull on shaft a bit to make sure its locked in place at tranny end.

I need to pull the drivers side front axel off how do i do it

remove axle
1. remove wheel
2. remove brake caliper and brake braket
3. remove rotor
4. remove 4WD locking hub
5. remove c clip on axle
5a. (leave wheel bearing assy on after taking c-lip off saves time unless you want to take it of in that case you have 4 bolts on the backside of the bear that you will have to unbolt)
6. unbolt upper and lower ball joints
7. use ball joint tool and seperate
7a. remove spindel knuckel
8. slide axle out

I want to remove front axel driver side please

Basically, you loosen the axle-nut (could be pretty tough, so spray some lubricant on it) and the wheel nuts. Jack up the car and support it on jack-stands.
Reomve the brake calipers and tie it up to frame. Remove the two bolts holding the struts bracket and steering-knuckle. Push down/sideways to separate both strut-bracket and steering-knuckle. Use large screw-driver or pry bar to pry off axle from side of transmission. Block-off transmission fuild with a nylon rag or similar; take out axle-shaft. Installation is reverse of removal.

1999 dodge cummins 2500 front axel seals

you need to pull off wheels, brakes, rotor /unit hub bearing, both axles and intermediate shaft, as well as the vac disconnec ton the front axle tube. if only the right side leaks then only then only pull the right axle and intermediate shaft and vac disco. it is a trick with a miller tool to replace the seal. the left side seal is inside the diff and the carrier has to come out to replace it. pete

85 cj7 rear axle removal

Do you have bolt in axels? or are they held in with C- clips? If its bolt in axels you need to remove the bolts, and you may need an axel puller to get them out. If its got C- clips rear cover on rearend has to come off, and pin has to be removed to get C- clip out to get axel out.

Front axle passenger side

about a 1 hour job

1 you need to remove the wheel 4 or 5 nuts.
2 you need to remove the caliper 2 bolts at the back of the disk.
3 there will be a cup in the middle of the disk you can remove the cup with a hammer and a medium flat blade screw driver behind the cup us a large nut it may have a **** pin going through it you will need a pair of side cutter plyers to remove the split pin the nut will be 24mm.
4 there will be 2 bolts with a nut each on the back of them undo the bolts and the disk will come toward you and hang on an angle.
5 your driveshaft will be sort of locked in to the transmission give the driveshaft a bit of a shake side to side and pull toward you at a steady rate you dont want to damage your seals.
6 it is all straight forward when putting i back together just make sure to do the caliper and the 24mm nut up as tight as you can and dont forget the split pin.

if i was you i was you i would do the driver side axel as well they always seem to follow not long after you replace the other

hope i explained it well let me no if you get stuck

no you dont need any special tools
