When i stop then go to acelerate i can press my gas pettle abought half way down and it feels like im just in nutral then all of a sudden it just takes off at full speed , it also has troubke swithing gearsa esppesially going up hill it is and automatic car and just recently it wouldnt reaverse
The transmission clutches may be going or the control valves are gummed up. May need to flush and replace the filter and trany fluid which might help. If it does not then may need to replace the trany or rebuild it. A used trany from a junkyard can save you thousands if the car has 150k miles or more.
Have you checked your fluid level?

Ya, trans is done. Internal failure is common on these as well as the caravan - same internal parts, same internal problems. A salvage yard can tell you what years will work with their interchange manuals

My 1999 Durango stalls when it’s cold and I shift into reverse.
Once the motor is warm reverse works fine.

Or have it checked by a pro tranny mechanic just in case it is only a sensor issue, i see a lot of neons with this problem.
