That fault will cause a no start, it senses an unauthorized person is trying to start eh car. You need a shop to scan the system control module and see what is causing the fault.

IT MEANS IT WILL COST ABOUT THAT MUCH TO REPAIR. BMW CODES ARE CROSS REFERENCED TO THE AMOUNT THE DEALER CHARGES TO FIX.

The computer has detected a fault in one or more of its systems. The only way you're going to an answer as to what the fault is, you're going to have to have someone attach a scanner or code reader to get any codes that are stored.
Most auto part stores can check late model OBD II for free. One may do earlier European.

to narrow this fault down it would be best to swap the coil,plug and injector,all too different cylinders to see what cylinder the fault goes to and then you will know the problem.

The only accurate way to diagnose is with a bmw specific scan tool, this will be needed to read the fault codes, from there the faulty component can be determined and replaced.

Either do a search in bimmerfest.com or a Google search on BMW fault codes.

5e20 pressure sensor fault is a bmw series 1 and 3 issue. The pressure switch is buried in the hydraulic system and cant be repaired. So bmw have this kit that costs

If is for a 3 series compact (318ti most common) then
P2799 is the intake air tem sensor 2
Which would explain the high idleing. Probably a sensor problem (bmw will charge) a competant mechanic should do it easily.
