The oil gauge actually goes up when I accelerate. My mechanic tells me there's a bypass release valve that is stuck. He changed the oil (which was thick) and added a detergent to help the valve release. I've been driving it now for about 4 days without much change. I'm wondering if there's any other work around. Estimate for replacing is 1500. Please advise.

Probably the front differential, your probably hearing the famous differential gear whine. Change the oil, put Lucas for gears in it. You can get a hand operated oil pump to **** it out through the dip stick if it has one. Then fill it with the recommended amount.

Airflow sensor very well may cause it , and Throttle position and temperature sensor too.
All of it has to be checked with good scaner , that can monitor values and data from ECM.
You need to find a better shop.

This is normal and is good. There is a one way valve built in the oil filter so when the engine is shut off this valve will shut and keep the oil in the passages so when the engine is started oil will be pumped in the engine quicker and oil preassure will be built up quicker.

You got a timing chain
Injector cleaner,in my opinion is a waste of money
PO306 could be a missing coil on cyl #6,still should start
PO325 Knock Sensor-most likely okey
Plugs, cap and rotor, will not prevent it from starting,it used to run with old parts, before the current problem!
I suggest you make sure you got the plug wires on correctly and number them with a ball point pen,on both ends.
Make a diagram of the dist cap wire locations.
Check out the TPS Sensor and make sure you have all intake ducting in place. You need the MAF Sensor in the system to run have it run
Have you checked fuel pressure? The pump may be going bad
