Why would it have a switch? Fuel cut off switches are found on race cars. The closest thing you probably have is a fuel pump relay. As for the location of that, this thread is good: http://forums.nicoclub.com/1984-300zx-fuel-pump-relay-location-t567634.html
Does the right side of you car have a rust hole by the rear wheel,Check the wries that go to the fuel pump,Thear is a panel in the back on the right side check the wries.
there is a small pully on the top belt that has a long bolt on top loosen left turn and the pulley will go down . the alt .has 1bolt to pivit and a nut to tighten an hold .you will see when you look under car.
check items in your fuel lines first, filter, pressure regulator....could be anything running down that line, don't waste your money on a fuel pump until it's the last option
