Is it the proper size battery as this happened me also. The battery was slightly too high even though it fitted in the key chain. So it was actually the wrong battery. I changed this and now it has the right battery but makes a loud horrible noise when I lock my car and when I unlock the car, it unlocks all the other doors except the drivers door, which means I have to get in the passenger side to open the drivers door. I am bringing it back to the garage to try and sort this annoying problem out,

New battery In mercedes no power

I'm not a car mechanic, but, it sounds like you might want to check the fuse to the ignition switch, and, if that fails, it might be a problem with the Start Safety Switch on the transmission. Good luck.

The current key fob I have no longer does anything key less. I have to take the key out to unlock the doors and start the car. We bought an extra key fob off ebay when we got the car, now I can't find...

Did you try replacing the battery in the original key chain? There is a small watch battery inside that needs replacing from time to time. Your car manual will tell you how to use the keychain after changing the battery to it.

Car unlocked but it sets the alarm ... car locked alarm goes for no obvious reason s type 4 liter.

Are you using the the keychain to lock unlock the vehicle? A low battery in the keychain will send wacky codes to your vehicle alarm system and will not set properly. Try using the key in the door to lock unlock vehicle. IF the alrm does not go off when using the key in the door, then you probably have to change the battery in the key chain. Best guess without being there to look at vheicle.
