You say you 'had' it fixed ? If that repair was an insurance repair, they should have taken care of that in/after the repair.

It takes a camber gauge to set the camber.
$260 is high for just setting up the front end, unless it includes parts.
Online Pep Boys show $89.99 + parts.
I'd let a professional do it.

SOURCE: replacing non-heated left side mirror (driver's side)

This site will tell you what you need to know. good luck with this.

http://autorepair.about.com/od/otherodddiyjobs/l/aa092504a.htm. In addition to the advice at the above site, I found another trick to removing the trim around the inside door handle. The above article refers to putting a screwdriver UNDER the door handle and pushing down ... to release a "secret latch". That's the first step. The second step (which is not in the article) is to insert the scredriver ABOVE the door handle ... vertically above the spot shown in the article. Then gently press the screwdriver handle down. With the screwdriver acting as a lever, the tip of the screwdriver will push UP on the top part of the trim. That will lift the trim up off a small pin on the handle mechanism. With both the bottom and top of the trim piece now "unlatched", slide the trim toward the back of the car, while you open the inside door handle (as mentioned in the article). The trim will come right off. Be sure to slide the trim toward the back of the car, as you move the trim away from the door panel. (There is a "hooked" piece of plastic on the back of that trim that prevents you from just pulling it out perpendicular to the door panel.) 'Hope these fine points help.

SOURCE: Drivers side mirror replacement 02 Rendezvous

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

SOURCE: Front driver side suspension knock over bumps

See if you can bounce car and replicate the noise. If you can, you should be able to find it, and put your hand on it. Stabilizer bushing are a place to look, both at the lower a arm and on the frame. If you narrow it down to the strut, it will need to be replaced. The front trans mount also goes bad, try putting it in drive with your foot on the brake and give it some gas and see if the engine moves an excessive amount.

Can you tell me what the Front suspension settings are ?

no vehicle make model. year supplied so the answer is generic but applies to most vehicles toe in is 1/8 -1/4 inch
caster 1 to 1 1/2 degrees and camber 1/2 2 degrees ( all measurements are positive
tire wear is the best guide to wrong alignment
wear on the inside or outside of the tire tread is alignment and toe -in
in the middle or on the outsides of the tread is pressure problems
wheel wobble at speeds ( 30mph up ) is castor adjustment, loose tie rod ends , ball joints and if the castor is approaching negative setting , will, not recenter the wheel after cornering
I suggest that you take the vehicle to an accredited suspension/ wheel alignment shop with experience on your make of vehicle and have it inspected
good shops will recommend that the rear is checked/ adjusted first as much front tire wear can be traced to the back being out

Changed all 4 struts on 03 cavalier, now the camber is off on the front wheels..

If you put on new struts the bottom bolt hole is oblong for camber adjustments.Where the old struts bottom hole was not. If you put a jack under the lower control arm, jack the wheel off the ground and adjust the struts camber to where the wheel looks straight. And tighten bolts.

How do you fix the camber on a 02 sable?

Are you sure it's the 'camber' needs adjusting? Camber is the measured distance between the two front wheels at the top AND the bottom, measured ACROSS the car.
The most common adjustment used is 'Toe'. It's the same method of measurement as camber BUT is at the Front and Rear edges of the front wheels. (Think of your own feet. toes in, / \. Toes out, \ /).
That hit you mentioned to the left side of the car might also have bent something else, like suspension or chassis.
Get a GOOD wheel alignment specialist to look at it.

1996 Mercury Sable LS camber problem found after an alignment check. left is -1.50 right -1.51 the guys said it is a compressed spring? They to fix the issue by adjusting the camber instead of replacing...

hi.
the correct answer here is to replace both the springs. if one is compressed to the point where it affects camber, then the other must also be considered suspect, and both should be replaced so the springs are balanced on each side. then you need the allignment checked again.
on the other hand, the can is 15 years old, -1.50 and -1.51 do not seem to be too bad on a car this age, so if they think they can adjust this to fix it, it may be worth trying. if they cannot get the reading within acceptable limits, then you may have to replace the springs/struts, but both sides would need to be done together to keep the sides balanced. hope this helps

Front tires last 1 or 2 weeks before showing steel on inside

No full 4 wheel alighnment. The struts you have replace are how the front camber is adjusted. After camber has been adjusted then toe will be set.

2006 bmw 116i

if it is scraping on the shock chances are that 1 the camber of your right front is way off this could be due to a damaged strut/shock/coil spring assembly are the allignment is way off. one of the first things you do is when you take it to a shop have them show you exactly what is wrong. don't allow them to tell you you need replacement of parts unless they give you a detailed answer and they show you why it needs replacing. On your vehicle you have front wheel drive so the suspension is as follows strut is responsible for keeping the wheels on the ground it also can be adjusted to keep the wheel tilted in or out on the top or bottom this is called camber. you have a coil spring that is intergrated with the shock this is called a strut there is a distinction between just a shock which has no coil spring. this spring keeps the body off the axle this is the only purpose it serves. tie rods are what are attached to your rack and pinion unit this is what steers the wheels. they adjust the wheels at the front or back of the wheel this is called toe in/out if you have wishbones upper and lower there also should be a stablizer bar between the 2 also known as a torsion bar. this is used to add stablization to the whole assembly. you have a front wheel drive vehicle and the axles are also called cv jointed axles thes e have no bearing on your wheel rubbing the strut because they are in a fixed position and cannot be adjusted. thr front rotor assembly does have a sealed bearing however unless you have a severe wobble your hub assembly is not the problem. if the wheel is rubbing the strut either the wheel is toed in to far due to an improper adjustment of the tie rod end or the camber is off due to a bent strut or poor allignment. my suggestion is to take it to a small independant shop and have them do the repair you will save money on parts and labor you will get a good job done and most important if they are a crediable shop they will not try to fleece your pofckets they will explain in detail what the problem is and how to fix it they will show you exactly what is to be done. please rate this thanks
