No scan tool communication with 2001 with dodge dakota..why?

FIRST IS THE FUSES UNDER DASH AND UNDER HOOD FUSE BOX. OBD2 POWER IS FROM THE CIG. LIGHTER FUSE. UNPLUG PHONE CHARGER OR ANY OTHER FROM CIGARETTE LIGHTER AND TEST FOR POWER. THROTTLE IS ELECTRONIC AND CONTROL FROM PCM. IF YOU DON'T HAVE SCANNER DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND CONNECT AGAIN. SOMETIMES NEED 10 MIN. DRIVING TO LEARN THE IDLE.

Dig the penny out first with something like tweezers..then change the Cigarette lighter fuse in your fuse panel. Location is on side of dash on drivers side behind the fuse panel. The cigarette lighter shares the same fuse as the door locks.

Need to replace the fuse for the cigarette lighter

I dont happen to have one of those diagrams, but if you pull the fuses one by one and replace the burnt ones you should be able to 1.) Identify what item is on what circuit (for the most part) and 2.) solve your original problem with your cigarette lighter. Hope this gives you some direction. Thanks for Using FixYa!

Sincerely,
