SOURCE: 2001 chrysler voyager makes loud noise when

the shaft itself cannot be lubricated. at the bottom of the steering column under the dash move the carpet out of the way as much as possilble and look at the rubber boot, spraying somm sylicone lube in there will get rid of a rubbing noise. if it is making a clunking noise when steering look at the tie rods for loosesness. if it clunks when hitting bumps look at the ball joints and more than likely the stabilizer bushings at the lower controlarms and the body where it is attatched are worn out, this is quite common..

2001 Blazer has vibration, Can feel vibration through the steering coulmn and floor boards. Sounds more pronounced on drivers side of car. Sounds less when making right turns. No noise when standing still....

You didn't say whether your blazer is a 2wd, 4wd, or awd. It sounds like you have a bad wheel bearing. If it's an all wheel drive, it could be the CV joint. You should also check for loose lug nuts and low tire pressure.

Our 2001 Santa Fe has developed a roar. I thought

If your noise is a low pitch rumble that gets louder the faster you go, it likely is a wheel bearing that is the cause. Another sign that the noise is from a wheel bearing is if the noise tends to get louder when steering one direction at a steady speed, and quieter when steering the other direction. A transmission noise does not change with the steering.

I have a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country Minivan. When turning the wheel either way, the car makes a horrible grinding noise and the steering wheeling makes a whistling noise at the same time.

i don,t know what the whistling noise is but it sounds like your cv joints may need to be looked at. the bearings in the cv joint maybe going bad.

When I turn the steering wheel it grinds and moans like it's being shot. Is it the gearbox or the power steering pump, or neither?

These trucks are notorious for ball joints that make all kinds of noise. Start by inspecting the ball joints while someone turns the wheel side to side.

1. Jack up truck so wheels are free from ground.
2. With engine off turn wheel side to side and listen for your noise.
3. If you are not detecting the noise during this test the noise maybe in your power steering system.

Also note that sometimes the ball joints may not make noise unless the wheels are on the ground and loaded. In this case rocking the wheel should expose the location of your noise.

2004 Chrysler 300m has high pitched squeeling noise during low-speed turns. (parking lots, driveways). Had a power steering flush and had serpentine belt replaced with no improvement. 103,000 miles...

Sounds like the serpentine belt is slipping . Most likely you have a bad belt tensioner. Another possibility is your steering pump could be going out. Ball joints and tie rods make clunking or knocking sounds when they are bad.
