I too have the 2004 CTS.
Just today, my dealership checked my transmission fluid level because I have gear noise.

There is NO dipstick!

The car is put up on the hoist with motor running and transmission in neutral.
There is a fill / level check plug located on drivers side of transmission through which the level is checked.

I wint to fill my transmission oil from my caddilac cts

I am guessing that you are looking all over the engine compartment, and you just can't find that darn trans dipstick. This may be because your car doesn't have one. The automobile companies that make those fancy expensive cars don't want the owners fiddling with fluid levels on these cars. What they've done on your car and many others is create a fluid level check that is at your trans drain plug. Your big plug has a smaller plug screwed into it's center. If you remove the smaller plug and a drop of oil comes out ,you are good. If no oil comes out you will need to fill. There is a fill plug somewhere on side of transmission. Please don't take this info 100% for your CTS because unless I see I am guessing. To be on the safe side I would go to a good repair shop to have your trans fluid checked correctly. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

How do I add transmission fluid

It does not have a dipstick, so you cannot fill it through the dipstick! You have a sight plug on the side to check the level!

Need to add transmission fluid in Cadillac CTS 2008. How do you do it?

My 2009 CTS4 should be the same as your 2008 CTS. There is no dipstick tube to check or fill the transmission. The check plug is in the bottom of the pan. It loos like a drain plug, but it is not. The fill plug is on the passenger side of the transmission, just above the front of the oil pan. It is a plastic and rubber plug that is pulled straight up.

You'll probably be better off having it checked and filled at a dealer or trans shop.

How do I check the transmisson fluid and fill it on a 2003 Cadillac Cts V6, 3.2L?

The filler is the tube with the dipstick under the hood. Check when hot, engine running and the car in prk. Use a gooseneck funnel to bring the transmission fluid to the mark. Do not overfill.

Where is the transmission stick located on the 2004 CTS

Hello Lillian.
Your CTS does not have a dipstick to check the level.
There is a procedure for checking it but it needs to be done by lifting the car high and level to access a plug on the side of the transmission.
Here is the procedure.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL CHECKING PROCEDURE

  1. Start the engine and allow the engine to idle until the transmission fluid normal operating temperature has been reached.
  2. Depress the brake pedal and move the shift lever through the gear ranges, pausing a few seconds in each range. Return the shift lever to the PARK range.
  3. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. The vehicle must be level, with the engine running and the shift lever in the PARK range. CAUTION: The engine must be running when the transmission fluid fill plug is removed, or excessive fluid loss will occur. Transmission fluid may be hot. Since the actual fluid level is unknown, stand clear when removing the fill plug. Have a container ready to capture any lost fluid. Do not turn the engine off with the fill plug removed, as you can be injured by hot transmission fluid being expelled out of the oil fill opening.
If you would like further advise on this matter, please ask me here in a comment.

Where is the fill hole for 2005 cadilac cts transmission

I am assuming that the transmission is an automatic. If so, the fill hole is the tube where the transmission dipstick is located. Simply remove the dipstick and using a funnel, slowly pour in the transmission fluid. Remember...do not overfill the transmission.

Need to add transmission fluid in Cadillac CTS 2004. How do you do it?

tod34 is correct. The "fill" area of this transmission is located on the transmission itself. It is a fluid leveling plug located low on the main case toward the back of the trans. You must pump the fluid in through that hole. If you are on level ground and the transmission is properly warmed, you should fill the transmission until the fluid level is flush with the bottom of the hole (starts spilling out)

Where is the oil filter located on a 2006 cts cadillac

There is an aluminum bolt head on top of what looks like a metal can on the top side of the engine. Its near the fill tube and dipstick - drove me crazy, too!
