i had the same problem on my 99. the senor is located in the rear differential on top. speed was off, doors would not lock at speed,(15 mph) mileage comp was off, etc. sensor fixed all. good luck
The two problems may or may not be related. First go to the vehicle speed sensor on the rear axle to see that the wiring and connection is clean and tight to the sensor. If it is all good there then change the vehicle speed sensor, this should fix the speedometer. The Dodge transmission has it's own speed sensor and if it is affecting the shift, it should be storing a transmission code. Also the wiring harness inside the transmission may be faulty.
Might be a low tire. When they sit over night, and ther isn't enough air in them, they get a flat spot, and it'll stay that way until the tire warms up.
Although you didn't mention it, the speedometer probably bounces also. Replacing the speed sensor on the side of the transmission should solve both your problems. Good luck
it could be a number of things. check your ball joints. i had the same problem with my dodge, i replaced the ball joints and it stopped. your wheels could also need alignment.
hello are the tires factory if the tires are larger or smaller than the size specified it throws yor speed sensor off speed wont register the right way if not i would say faulty speed sensor
