The only setting air blows out is when it is on window defrost ,you can hear the other ones blowing, but cant feel any air, and when the window defrost does blow, but,it only blows cold air, the blower motor works, I just changed the thermostat, all the fusses are good !!! still no hot air!!!!!! please help
The heater core may be plugged. After the vehicle is warmed up to operating temperature, feel both hoses (careful they may be hot) and see if they feel equally warm. If one is noticeably warmer than the other, your heater core is likely plugged.

Either Your fan switch is burned out or you blower motor is no good, your blower motor is on the passenger side under the dash. Before you replace any parts you need to check your fuses and relays under your hood and in the car. Usually if your fan switch goes bad you will still get some air blowing thru the vents, so my guess would be blower motor, If its not a blown fuse or relay.

the rear airconditioning uses a thermal expansion valve to control the amount of refrigerant evaporating into the rear evaporator, the front does not it uses a fixed orifice which cannot compensate for anything. what usually happens is that the refrigerant level is low and the rear expansion valve "steals" all of the available refrigerant.
I would recommend having the system evacuated and recharged by weight first(definetly the cheapest way to go). twice i had to replace the txv for the rear a/c because it was stuck open(in the last 10 years! ... not very common). also ther could be a door in the hvac system that is not covering the heater core. american automobile manufacturers usually heat up the heater core at all times and block the airflow when they don't need it, but air always flows through the a/c evaporator assembly(if the a/c is'nt on it's not cold). and last the cooling fan for the a/c system,and the cooling system on the car, is coupled to the engine by a viscous coupling that could have worn out(very unlikely). if that were the case you should have adequite cooling at speed, but warn up at a stop(also symptom of low charge) i hope that this information helps usual leak sources on gm are the compressors.

i have the same problem, my rear a/c blows great very cold, the front a/c blows but it is not cold at all. I had the the a/c seviced and it was vacumed and correct ammount put back in, no problems, the front still blows but it is not cold, i have checked everything and the a/c guy said it might be the door not opening. any help? still not working
