We have checked fuses but someone thought it could be a relay switch?
SOURCE: 88 Ford F250 rear gas tank will not work
Sounds like the rear fuel pump in the tank is not working and the float or sender is bad also. check to see if the rear pump is working should make a humming noise.
SOURCE: Fuel Tanks reversed , Gauge not reading?
The Ford trucks were recalled for the tank switch replacement. Somehow the switches would pump fuel from one tank to the other. This would cause the one tank to overflow and or result in a fire from hot exhaust temps coming into contact with the fuel. Check the dash tank switch. It is probably bad.
SOURCE: where is the fuel tank selector valve exactly located
Just in front of the side tank is the selector.Very common problem. The rear fuel tanks pump quits.

SOURCE: F150 dual fuel tank problem
I have to say i'm only guessing, but it sounds like the valve that switches the flow of gas from one tank to the other must be sticking part way open, or bypassing or something, and anything your engine doesn't require, is being returned to the front tank, instead of the rear.
SOURCE: when I switch from my front fuel tank to my rear tank gas stops
There is no selector valve on a 1995 ford f150 300 engine. The selector switch on the dash sends power to the pump in the selected tank. The pump then sends fuel to the engine. If engine won't run on the selected switch, the pump in that tank needs replaced.
