The P0603 code indicates that your Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has failed its own Keep Alive Memory (KAM) self-test. The PCM is a computer in your car that controls a variety of essential systems, such as the ignition, engine timing, fuel/air mixture, transmission, and anti-lock breaks.
okay, 1998 voyager these are not obd2 codes, these are genric codes, you used ignition to get these . these codes are for older models that use codes like these 12 35. the newwer obd 2 use codes like po 013. i will try to see what i can find, also the engine size is important.
okay here we go, the first code is 12, this code means the battery was dead or dissconnected. the next code 35. this code means loss of prime, code # 11 means internal transmission failure. the code 55 means gear ratio error.
these codes would tell me that you have transmission problems. this may mean internal trans failure and a rebuild or replacement transmission is needed or shift pack needs replacing. anyhow i would have a shop check this out, these van are known for transmission problems. hope this is helpful good day
Are you sure it's not 1355? The fault codes using the key on/off sequence are two digit codes, and code 55 means the end of the list. So it may be 13, 55. Code 13 means the ECU is not receiving a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) signal. See the link for the breakdown of Chrysler fault codes (bottom of page). P0455 = Evap leak monitor large leak detected. This code usually means the gas cap may have been loose or needs the rubber gasket.
P0500 = No vehicle speed sensor signal. Vehicle speed sensor is located on the transmission near one of the axle shafts (it may need replacing).
P0700 = EATX controller DTC present. This simply means you have transmission related codes.
P0732 = Gear ratio error in 2nd gear. This code is of some concern, it means the transmission is slipping in 2nd gear. However the trans may be in limp mode due to the speed sensor code (limp mode means the trans starts out in second gear in order to at least get to a mechanic). The first thing I would do is have these codes cleared as there may be absolutely nothing wrong with the transmission (especially if you pull the trans dip stick and the fluid does not have a burnt smell. The vehicle should drive normally after that. If the check engine light comes back, have the codes scanned ASAP (before any other unrelated code sets). Chances are it may be the output speed sensor if this happens (easy fix). Hope this helps
Trouble Code-P0734 (A/T Additional Gear Ratio Error In Fourth Gear)
Trouble Code Conditions: Vehicle driven to a speed of 4-37 mph at more than 500 rpm, gear selector in 4th Gear in Drive, and the PCM detected too much difference in the engine speed and output shaft speed. Possible Causes:
Customer may complain of intermittent 4th gear operation
O/D and 2/4 pressures less than 75 psi
O/D or 2/4 clutch volume indexes out of specification
O/D accumulator seals are damaged
Transmission enters "limp in" mode running in 4th gear
Trouble Code-P0735 (A/T Gear Ratio Error Fourth Prime)
Trouble Code Conditions: Vehicle driven any forward Gear, and the TCM detected the ratio of the Input speed to the Output Speed did not match the current Gear Ratio (this test can take up to 5 minutes). Possible Causes:
Related Gear Ratio trouble codes may be stored (note that some of these Gear Ratio trouble codes may be intermittent)
Transmission has internal problems or damage present
You have a transmission problem.Hope this helps, James Booth
It is very possible that the transmission is going out. Need a little more clarification on what the codes mean that are coming up.You can go to Autozone and they can bring up the codes, and then they will tell you what those codes mean. It doesnt cost anything and could possibly be a cheap, quick, and easy fix.
These codes mean 'incorrect gear ratio' referencing all four forward gears. Try to drain and flush the transaxle. Usually this means the computer can't shift the gear modulator and the line pressure is too low - either because the transaxle is low on fluid or the fluid is too weak to allow proper line pressure. Otherwise the PCM could be faulty - any other codes present?
It is possible that the emission problem that triggered the check engine light has something to do with the car not shifting into high gear. You need to have the honda scanned for codes to see what exactly is wrong, correct the problem, and see if the transmission issues clear up after the fix. Parts stores offer a free check of engine codes, and can explain what they mean and offer ideas on how to fix the problem. If after getting the codes you still have questions, post them here with the code #'s.
