2002 Chrysler Sebring convertible-malfunction light on

75,000 miles-no previous problems-keep the oil changed and transmission fluid changed. Air bag light stayed on a while but now off and the malfunction light is on. Drives fine. Not overheating-no oil light on and it changes fine.

Planning to buy a 2002 Chrysler Sebring convertible lxi with 82k miles on it. when is the next major service due and also what to look out for regarding maintenance of this car?

First off make sure this car was very well taken care of. Honestly I would not recommend getting this car. The transmission can have problems, the A/C pump will definitely fail in the near future, and the list can continue on. at 90k it will be due for spark plug changes, air filter change, and coolant change.
thanks,
Lee

Why do I have a ticking sound in my 2007 sebring transmission which have 75,000 miles?

That just happened to me. Check your transmission and make sure you have transmission fluid in your system. I just paid $2,000 to rebuild my transmission and the ticking was an indicator of the problem, but I didn't know it at the time.

Code PO740 and PO700 show on scanner for 2002 Chrysler Sebring LX. What's going on?

Best to have a transmission place work on this.
Here are the meaning of the codes:
P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction
P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction

It maybe cheap to fix like a bad sensor. Or it maybe something serious going on. Best to have a transmission shop check it out.
Good luck.
