2008 Mitsubishi eclipse radio not working after battery change

My car battery died so I had to have a new one installed. Now my car stereo won't work. It turns on and shows a display, but no channels work and there is no sound...not even fuzz. There is no prompt to add a code or anything. Please help!

The radio isn't even giving me an option to add a code. Called the dealership and they claimed they didn't know anything about it and made me make an appointment! Money!

Unfortunately in newer vehicles, they sometimes need to have the computer re-flashed IF you unhook the battery with the radio on. It's a crummy deal. The dealership will probably have to re-flash the computer. You could try turning the stereo off, then disconnect the cables on the battery for a minute, then re-connect and POSSIBLY it could reset the system and it may work again. Don't get your hopes up, this may not fix it.

SOURCE: radio code

I had the same problem. Dealer will fix but they want ridiculous amount. Call Mitsubishi customer service. They will need info: Serial number and model number of the radio. The numbers are on the side or back of the radio (Easy removal-just need a screwdriver). Also they ask for proof of ownership Fax it over to them, then call back for the code. Its easy and its cheap.

SOURCE: need to know how to install new radio in a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse

call 1888mitsu2001 and hit option #4, then hit * (star), give them the last 8 digits of your vin and they will provide the code for FREE.

DO NOT PAY FOR THE CODE ONLINE OR GO TO A DEALER (they will also charge).

My stereo doesnt work it says code on it and i was needing to know how to get the code or how can i make the stereo work and its a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse?

Some radios have an antitheft feature built in. When the power is disconnected (like in replacing a battery or if the radio was removed or stolen from a car) then you have to enter a code to activate it. Call the dealer and ask if they can help you with the code and procedures. Your owner's manual should have the procedure listed in it but the code should have been in the papers that came with your car when it was new. Again the dealer is your best bet. They will need your vehicle VIN and maybe even the radio serial number. There are some web sites that offer to sell you radio codes but I have had good luck with the dealers giving me them free.

Need car stereo lock code mitsubishi spider eclipse

I've read that will work ok. The radio will change from locked to being ready for the code. Make sure you know the procedure for entering the code.

They change the radio stations and tracks on the CD, and volume. If you don't have the default stereo installed, then the wires probably aren't hooked up properly to the new radio, and the buttons probably don't work.
