On nearly any common engine, you can follow the upper radiator hose toward the engine and find the thermostat. I is often under a dome-shaped housing attached to that hose and bolted to the engine block, often with 2, at the most, 3 bolts. When replacing the thermostat, ensure you get the correct replacement gasket and thoroughly clean the surfaces of the removable housing and the mating surface and use a thin film of silicone sealant or adhesive on both sides of the gasket and do not over-torque the mounting bolts when reassembling. Not moderating the force you use can result in twisting off a bolt which then presents another problem again. Unfortunately some cars may use a thermostat with a permanent element embedded that cannot be replaced without disposing of the entire multi-port housing that contains the thermostatic element; these are much more expensive to replace and no better than the simpler type.
If you are unsure, call several repair shops for quotes before turning your car over for this fairly simple job and you might check any business' reputation with your area BBB.

2007 Pontiac G5. How to disable the security antitheft system on a 2007 Pontiac G5

Question edited for clarity. Presumably 'antithetic' was supposed to be anti-theft?
Question moved from Kitchen Appliances category!

Short answer, you can't. The system is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do, drive the car without the correct credentials. You have to fix whatever the problem is (you don't tell us that), not try and find a way to bypass. The antitheft system is made up of sensors, the anti-theft module, the BCM and the ECM.

I just replaced my ecm in my 2009 Pontiac g5 and it keeps blowing the ecm fuse as soon as it touches the terminal. What could be the cause of it blowing like that Everytime I try to replace the fuse?

Sounds like you have a short somewhere in the ECM harness. Chances are that the original ECM wasn't going bad, it has likely been a wiring issue the whole time. If you are no good at trouble shooting wiring issues, you need to find you a competent mechanic.

Hire do I bypass the ignition on a 2009 pontiac g5

You can't , the computers won't let you . The ignition switch is a low voltage input to the BCM - body control module . What's the problem ? lost keys or anti-theft system won't let the vehicle start an run . The BCM & PCM - engine computer are hooked together on the GMLAN serial data network . if the BCM doesn't the correct response from the transponder in the ignition key it will not send start request to the PCM/ECM . You have no clue as to what your dealing with. Do yourself a favor an take it to a qualified repair shop .

ECM has code P0017

the cams and crank are out of time...if thats the only generic DTC you pulled out of the computer. the cam and cranks are out of sync for whatever reason. could be a faulty timing chain tensioner let one of the cams or crank jump one tooth retarded. that is if the only trouble code p0017 is present. if there are more codes present than that, contact your local factory dealer. there may be a recall on the PCM programming. when they put in the updated parameters they call it a reflash.

2009 Pontiac G5 remote start not working

Hooking up a factory tech 2 scan tool an checking BCM -body control module DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's ,an input data for the remote start system . Would be the first step in the diagnostic procedure .

Circuit/System Description
Remote vehicle start (RVS) begins as an RF message received by the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) from a keyless entry transmitter. The RVS request is sent by the RCDLR to the body control module (BCM) via serial data. The BCM monitors system conditions such as content theft deterrent (CTD), hood ajar status, and body DTCs to determine if an RVS event will occur. If conditions are determined to be acceptable, the RVS message is sent to the engine control module (ECM). The ECM monitors system conditions such as engine control parameters and vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) to determine if engine starting will be allowed. If conditions are acceptable, the ECM will initiate engine starting. During the engine run time in a RVS attempt, before the operator enters the vehicle, the ECM may discontinue engine operation if system conditions require it or a message is received from the BCM requesting the engine be turned OFF.

2009 2.2L Pontiac G5 Comes up code P0641 What does this mean? Thank you

po641 on a 09 g5 2.2 means that there is a problem with the 5 volt coming from the ecm the same 5 volts is sent to about 6 sensors you need to look at the 5 volt referance pid on a scan tool and disconect the sensors one by one till the referance volts comes to about 5 volts if that don't work then check the wires for a short to ground , usually ther are other codes in the memory to give you a hint
