How To Test For A Car Battery Power Drain
Hi , A fully charged battery is 12.6. The link below is a short you tube video on how to find out if a car battery has a power drain, The video starts with the guy loosening the negative lead to the battery then turns the multimeter on and sets it to 20 DC, plug bottom of lead to current mode and places 1 multimeter lead on top of the terminal inside the negative lead and the other multimeter lead on the negative lead and wiggle the negative lead off the battery, The current being drawn from your battery should be less than (5.0) 50 mille volts..... The reason he takes the negative lead off after connecting the multimeter this is to save any codes from the car as technically the battery isn't disconnected..... CHEERS..

SOURCE: peugeot 307 heater blower fault

Hi
i just had the same fault, but being in the trade it is normally only 1 of 2 problems.
the heater resitor packing up or the wiring loom.
both can be bought through peugeot.
try the heater resistor first (£40). to find it undo 7 star screws to remove glove box then look in behind centre conlsole near back of radio diconnect the black plug with a red and black cable. twist back of fan motor clockwise and remove fan(it's a bit of a tight squeeze to remove),then put your hand inside the hole you just made till you feel the flat resistor turn this anti-clockwise and disconnect green plug then reassemble as removed,

if this does not fix it then it is the loom, to remove this it is best to follow the wires from the back of fan motor up to where i think if i remember lead to 2 other plugs 1 green and 1 black on the way to another green plug up behind the drivers foot well, then thread the new loom back the same way.

on the 405 i think the resistor is in behind the fan motor accessed throgh the driver side footwell again you need to first take out the fan motor normally twisted anti-clockwise. it is un common for 405 to burn out heat resistors it is normally down to a wire fault.

hope this helps

peugeot and citreon cars do bite high generaly, it is hydaulic there is no adjustment. but it also depends on how high it is ?? does it slip if you slightly rest your foot on whilst driving?? they do have a problem with the bearings going through the cover as it is the same bearing as a HDI . but you woud notice this as a different problem. ie noise or vibration on pedal. call me for more info .. paul @ the clutch centre..01527 64440 07790438337

My Peugeot 307 battery drains consistently

This is called 'Parasitic Draw' and is notoriously difficult to find. This is how you check it.

Fully charge the battery. Put an Ammeter on the positive terminal of the battery. Have someone watch the meter as another person pulls each fuse one at a time. When one or more fuses are pulled, the amperage load with drop considerably. That just highlights which component and which circuit is causing it?

Or take it to a local auto-electrician who has the experience and the $5,0000 scan tool computer.

It appears to be a well known issue on the 307!!

How to fix an electrical circuit fault on peugeot 307

Test charging circuit (usually for free at parts store). A battery getting drained can cause much of this. With car sitting still you could try removing fuses one at a time to see if there is an unusual draw.
