No compression on the brake pedal. Seems like the rear brakes are locked up. Front wheels spin when in 4 wheel drive. Seems like it runs ok in reverse. I didn't put it back into 2 wheel drive when I went in reverse. Yesterday the right rear brake seemed to be stuck and it was sparking causing smoke and smells from the brake pad. Perhaps a brake cylinder is bad?
Hi First of all check the adjustment on the rear wheel thats sticking sometimes the brake pad comes away from the metal it is fixed to this maybe the case on your vehicle, the make & year of vehicle would help further but I a sure you got something to check now. Please leave me feedback, Malcolm Campbell.
SOURCE: right rear wheel locking up
okay you had brake work done!!! "THINKING" that was the problem originally right rear wheel locking up! okay,,, so doing brakes has not solved your problem! I would maybe look into rear end bearing??? do you have any load road noise from rear and do you have rear end fluid in differential? question to you was the baking plate ""WET"" looked damp? or moister get at it!??? seal might have leaked all fluid out??? all the above would be good place to start! good luck I hope this info helps you out.Happy new year.

Does it have abs breaks? I have heard of problems with the older abs systems.

try bleeding them more, start with the right rear, then left rear, then right front ,then left front, always bleed the brake that is furthest from the master cylinder, sometimes you have to bleed them several times until you get a steady stream of brake fluid.

Yes, I think that the valve is either broken, or the rings are worn out on the cylinder. More likely a bent or broken valve or stuck valve in the open or closed position.
I would use a compression tester, though, to test how much pressure builds up in each cylinder and to see if it is balanced across the remaining cyilinders.

If you have gotten all the air out of the lines and still have a soft pedal, you probably have a master cylinder problem. If the seals inside get bad, they won't build pressure. The plunger with seals will just allow the fluid to flow without building pressure.
