Go back under the truck and check to make sure all the fusible links at the starters battery post are hooked up and have continuity through them. I thank you left one off.

SOURCE: starter runs constantly when u connect the battery

Check the wire from the battery at the starter there is a tab to keep it from spinning when you tighten the nut,it may be touching the other nut on the solenoid causing the starter to spin. You can also remove the wire on the solenoid that engages it then it should not spin.If it does it is a starter problem

SOURCE: How do I replace the starter

the starter will be at the rear of the engine. Disconnect all of the cables, remove the 3 or 4 bolts that hold it in. Pull it straight out of the engine. Install the new starter. Starters are fairly straightforward, but sometimes awkward to reach.

SOURCE: headlights and dash light dont work

You would have to check and see if you are getting any power out of the light switch. There is a seperate wire for the headlights and the dash lights.

SOURCE: 98 jeep tj, dash light/taillights/licence plate light don't work

disconnect head lights, and replace fuse. Then turn the light back on to see if it blow a fuse again. if not, plug on light in at a time. You might have a bad headlight???? then unplug that one if nothing happens. Then plug the other one in. It could also be a bad taillight bulb. I have had bad tail light bulbs. Do all of them, one at a time.

2001gmc jimmy wont start

Sounds like dirty corroded battery post connections...remove from battery clean and/or replace the post push in terminals...these can be purchased through your local parts store for under $5. They are push out...push new in also clean inside the battery connections...be sure new posts are tight...all systems will need to reset after the dis-connect...Hope this helps.

2001 GMC jimmy won't start. New starter, new

If the starter motor is turning the problem may be a broken flywheel tooth. If starter is not engaging the solenoid may be bad or not hooked up but that seems unlikely since starter was replaced. The problem's down there. If solenoid not clicking then problem may be further back.

I have a 2000 Jimmy and recently replaced the battery. The truck died about two weeks ago and started with a jump. It died again last night and it won't do anything. It made a clicking noise at first...

It could be, but there are a couple things I would check first. Using a digital multimeter, measure the battery voltage. Normally will be about 12.65 volts DC. If it has at least 11 volts and the car just clicks, check that the battery cables where they screw into the battery are free of corrosion and tight to the battery. If ok, test the voltage at the starter where the red large cable comes from the battery to ground (engine block or bolt attaching starter to engine.) If you have the same voltage as at the battery, and still no start-just clicking, I would take the starter off and to the auto parts store where they can test it for free to see if it needs replaced.
Also, if you get the motor started, test battery voltage red lead to POS on battery and black lead to ground on engine. Should get 13+ volts or your alternator could be bad causing the battery to be bad in the first place.

95 F250 not starting

You said you tightened the battery cables, did you check the other end of the negative where it bolts to the engine. When you tightened the cables you also used a battery brush and cleaned the posts and ends?

Will not turn over and headlights blinkers back

Check for power to your starter relay - if there is power there then most likely is your starter motor

Starting problems

Sounds like the starter is physically loose or going bad and draging.
