How to remove 1997 Discovery winshield washer tank

If I'm not mistaken, the pump shares the same washer fluid tank up in engine compartment. Tank has 2 pumps

Is the washer tank full of fluid?
Check the hoses and jets on the windshield They could be plugged. The pump could have dirt in it. The tank could be dirty where the fluid is sucked out of the tank itself .You can take the hose off the pump then try to make the pump work. If it squirts then you know you have dirt some place.

I have the same jeep it is the washer fluid level. you need washer fluid

1. Remove the left front fender liner.
2. Remove the air intake duct.
3. Remove the connector from the washer pump.
4. Remove the hose from the washer pump.
5. Remove the connector from the level sensor.
6. Remove the brake control module.
7. Remove 3 screws and the washer solvent container from the vehicle.
   
   Reverse to install.

The sensor inside the tank is defective or covered in goo. Remove the sensor from the tank or remove the tank and flush it clean with hot water and a mild solution of white vinegar, if the sensor still reads the tank is low replace it.

look at the bottom of the washer tank there should be a round cylinder with a plug with 2 wires on it. unplug it and use a 12 volt meter 1 wire to 1 side of the plug and the other wire on the meter to the other side of the plug. once this is done look at the meter and have someone press the washer fluid button in the car. you should have 12 volts. if not start checking fuses

Check and verify that you indeed have the winshield washer tank filled if the tank is filled make sure the winshield washer hoses are attached to the washer nozzles under the hood if all of this checks out you probably have a bad windshield washer pump...

Im sure its under and behind the winshield washer tank. Remove it. Hope I helped!

Sometimes they have a port in the back along the inside behind an access panel. Others have a seperate washer fluid tank in the motor compartment. See if there is an access panel behind the rear seat on either side.
