you may have a failed ignition lock cylinder, the only for sure way to know is to take the car to a gm dealer and have them diag the car. (read the code) You can not bypass the theft system it controls fuel and ignition control module. If you have an independent repair shop with a scanner that can read a saturn control module it might be cheaper. The parts you will need tor replace isa lock cylinder new key and have the new lock cylinder coded

Might be the antitheft system. GM vehicles are notorious for bad antitheft security systems. When these begin to fail, they will lock out the starter at the ignition. Read about it on this link http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

Replaced the fuel pump. the car starts, but won't stay running

The anti-theft system will keep the car from being driven, so I would start there. You may need to reset the anti-theft or check the ignition key for problems.

06 trailblazer trouble with anti theft system, I think, starts right up then other times the anti theft light comes on and it won't start. can try it 2-4 hours later and it starts right up????

The first thing to do get it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Not at auto zone or any other parts store , you want to have full scan of all the modules on the car. Don't know how much you know about automotive electronics , computer controlled systems etc.... Your vehicle has at least 10 modules (computers ) on board , there all talk to each other on a serial data network . C.A.N - controller area network . Or in the case of GM it has it's own . GMLAN -
How to Diagnose Controller Area Network CAN When you turn that ignition switch to start it is an input to the computer ,be it the PCM or BCM ..

Saturn sl2 automatic...put a starter in..still won't start..all dummy lights up and battery is good...go to turn the key and nothing...help..

Most of the time this is caused by the anti theft system. It disables the starter and leaves you stuck. This is very common on GM vehicles. Read up on this link for info, pictures, and "do it yourself" solutions to the problem.
