When I start up from a complete stop a "LIMIT" light comes on the information dash board along with a description on the central computer screen that says "Speed Limit Exceeded". This turns off after a short distance but will return after each COMPLETE stop. I have 76,000 miles on the car and I do not make "jack rabbit" starts. Recenty had complete front brakes done and a synthetic oil change. I do not know what this is or how to stop it other than taking it to the dealer.
Great to hear that you got a handle on this. So few folks understand there car and it is the 2nd biggest outlay of cash they make in a lifetime.
It is just an alarm set by you or another driver. The car has a setting to let you know when you reach any speed the alarm is set for like 65 mph for example. Its just a reminder to keep you from speeding. Someone must have set yours to 10 mph or something. Just use the OBC button on the radio and then press the button for "LIMIT". Adjust it to a higher MPH or set it to ZERO to turn it off.
Nevr evr take it to a dealer and in the future checc out magicmechanic online

take battery back get a new one or have it tested. like auto zone or a parts store even wal-mart now. If this battery was just dead and needed charged. Then sounds like to me you have a bad alternater. you can rely know if you can get the battery charged up and get the car to start. and while the car is running pull the positive connection of the battery if car dies bad alternater .

hello, check for a damage crank position sensor this sensor sends the singnal to the dme (digital motor electronics ) to inject fuel and pulse the ing coils and will also start the fuel pump when it see a rpm above 500 this is a good tell sing if you crank the engine and the rpm does not jump there is a good chance that the crank posistion sensor is bad / the battery and engine light will be on untill the engine strarts

Look for Castrol TWS 10W60 Motor Oil. This car should not burn so much oil, you need to use a different kind. It is recommended by BMW as well. I also heard the VANOS isnt an issue anymore, can be fixed with a different MAFF. Good luck!

wow sorry to hear that it sounds like the head gskt blew but im scratching my head on that one because that is not very comon for the engine in that car, But i would say head gskt since the oil pressure in the car runs way higher than the pressure in the cooling system so thats why it would have blown a hole in the radiator, and mixed in with the coolant, i would not say that the place that changed your oil is at fault they could not have caused that to happen
