SOURCE: Speedometer stopped working

pretty common for the cable to break,if you get under the vehicle disconnect it from the gearbox and tug the inner cable it should not come out...if it does you know the problem....if it doesnt put a battery drill on the cable....dont start the engine but leave the ignition on a spin the drill if your speedo dont work then you need a new speedo head.....but that is very uncommon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOURCE: radio unlock code for 1998 land rover discovery

Give the dealership your VIN# and they will in turn provide you with an 'unlock' code. Input the code and you should have radio. If not, you will need to remove the radio and give the dealer the chassis # found on the case.

SOURCE: how can i put the radio code to my land rover 1998

Hi there,
I think its fairly standard across all Land Rovers. First of all you need a code. This was supplied on a credit card sized piece of card with the original vehicle. I'l assume its not to hand... Typically, you can source the code (which is specific to your serial number / radio) from a supplier such as this on eBay2_bing.gif: http://cgi.ebay.com/Landrover-Radio-Code-Decode-Service-4775-Navigation-/380181370976?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Audio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_In_Car_Audio_Players_PP&hash=item5884935860 Code in hand, you are ready to enter it and unlock the radio.

You only actually need numbered button <1> and the two seek buttons that look like <| and >| .
-------------
When you turn the radio on, you should see it request <CODE>

Press preset button <1>. This should identify character 1 of the code.

Use one of the two tuning buttons (Seek up , or seek down - the ones with arrows going into lines) to move to the right number (0-9).

Press preset button <1> again to lock digit 1 and move onto code digit 2.

Repeat twiddling the upseek and downseek. Press button 1 etc .... until all four codes have been entered.

When you press <1> for the final time, if the code is correct, you'll get a two tone beep to confirm and the radio is unlocked.

If incorrect, you are progressively locked out (in doubling time periods).

Hope this helps.

Land rover discovery R reg battery light came on but power steering stopped working but also engine still running with battey light on, can u please help

The light comes on when the altenator stps working properly. The vehicle will run untill it drains the battery.. but it sounds like you broke a belt. If you did, you need to check all the pulleies and pumps to see if any has stopped turning.

2002 land rover freelander. Can the oil pump stop operating properly because of a fuse or breaker?

I'm not familiar with land rovers but all oil pumps are mechanically driven by something in the motor. Either by the crank or the cam.
