1997 GMC Sierra, I keep blowing the ECM 1 fuse, I replaced Fuel Pump relay and Fuel Filter. Does the ECM 1 Fuse Pump the Fuel Pump, also disconnected the Fiter turned on the key and no fuel.

Will a bad fuel pump cause the ECM 1 fuse to keep blowing?

Ecm1 is injectors not fuel pump ecm-b is fuel pump its more likely to be a faulty relay for the injectors, it would be a similiar design to this
1997 GMC Sierra, I keep blowing the ECM 1 fuse, I - 12900_oil_sending_unit_and_fuel_pump_circuit_80-yoo05im5qhid2i2poe1uh03c-5-0.gif this is for the fuel system, relay for the injector is nearly the same.

SOURCE: Fuel pump fuse keeps popping

You have a short to ground or the pump is starting to go bad. You can run a seperate wire from the hot side of the fuse to your pump to see if it is the pump or if you use an ohm meter to check the wire and the pump. Get's a little technical though.

SOURCE: fuel pump fuse located on 1997 gmc sierra

The fuse is actually a Relay Switch and its located in the Fuse Relay Center on the driverside of the engine compartment. The Black Box is labled Fuse Relay Center, the diagram on the cap displays which Relay is the Fuel Pump relay...the Relay switch is usually $8-$15 depending on where you shop

SOURCE: I have a1994 gmc Sonoma. Fuel pump fuse keeps

The only other things on that circuit are your PCM(power control module) and the fuel pump/oil pressure switch. You can start with that but it is more than likely a ground somewhere on that circuit. If this helped four thumbs up please.

You checked the fuel pump relay in the engine compartment fuse / relay box ? The fuse that powers the fuel pump ? ECM B fuse 20amp - engine compartment fuse panel . Is the PCM turning on the fuel pump relay ? Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuits using a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter an a wiring diagram ?

Where is ecm on 95 gmc jimmy

The ECM on the jimmy, is located on the passenger side fender well by the overflow tank. But before replace the ECM, inspect the fuel pump and fuel pump relay. The ECM sends power to the fuel pump relay and if the relay has gone bad will cause the fuse to blow which will kill the the power to the ECM, in turn kill the electrical power to the ignition system.

Start by removing the fuel pump relay and swap it with another relay and see if the fuse will blow again, if is does. Disconnect the fuel sending unit wire harness at the frame and see if the fuse blows again, if the fuse stays good. Chances are your fuel pump has gone bad or the fuel filter is dirty/clogged causing your fuel pump to draw more amp and will need to be replaced or the wire harness from the frame to the sending unit has a short which is common on older Jimmy's.

Here is a link to the electrical harness throughout the Jimmy.

My son has a 2000 gmc sierra.. the truck was running often low on gas and when he recently turned the truck off whenever you attempt to start the truck when u turn the key over it blows the ecm-b fuse. ...

That fuse powers several things, including the fuel pump relay.
You would need to disconnect the harness at the pump and see if the fuse still blows.

I replaced the fuel pump relay, noticed that i had a blown fuse marked ecm. repaced that.ran truck for around 20 min.turned off. when i went to start again it wouldnt. looked at that same 20 amp fuse

There are two ECM fuses - marked ecm 1 and ecm B.
ECM B powers the fuel pump and the Veh control module which handles most of the sensors.
ECM 1 powers the ignition module, coil, injectors and the rest of the engine sensors.
You may need a repair book with diagrams to check all of the circuits for shorts.

1993 Buick Roadmaster keeps on blowing fuel pump/ecm in-line 20 amp fuse. Car stalled out in a parking lot, would not start, no fuel. Changed fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pump relay. Found fuel pump/ecm...

Sorry to say it could also be a faulty ECM. The ecm uses circuit boards to provide grounds to a bunch of components and can short out internally.
Most of those components can fail and cause the same problem by causing a short "thru" the ECM. Things like injectors, O2 sensors, and so on.
I doubt you will find the problem without a book and some test equipment.

ECM I fuse keeps blowing in my 1996 1 ton gmc sierra 4x4 with a 454 v8 engine whats causing it

For the ECM 1 fuse to open you obviously have a short to ground , start with the injector disconnected and see if ECM 1 fuse still blows. If it does disconnect crank sensor, also inspect wires for the injectors or any rub through wires here is a diagram cansmo_178.gif

1997 yukon, keep blowing ECM - 1, 20 amp fuse under hood . I had replace fuel pump a few months back, could it be a bad connection on the fuel pump?

i would check wire harness for bare wire but first i would look under that massive fuse box under hood, i kept blowing air cond relay and i traced it back to corroded connection on that fuse. not saying this is it and i hope it is that simple for you. other than that research exactly what the ecm-1 CONTROLS and search, test, grounds those systems. If i can come across any other symptoms i will forward them to you.
