I had my front hub bearings replaced, if bearings go bad then it throws off the sensors. If you hear a humming while driving and increases as you accelerate then it's the hub bearings.

Sounds like you have a bad wheel speed sensor. You need to have it scanned. Since it's been sitting, it might just be a bad connection to one of the speed sensors.

SOURCE: Lights that wont go away: Trac Off, ABS, Oil Change, Service Vehicle soon

I have this same problem with my 2000 Grand Am and the mechanic that I had taken it to had told me it was from a bad ABS sensor in a wheel hub, in order to fix that I would need to purchase a new hub. He said that triggered the service vehicle soon light and had caused the ABS light to come on as well. Although I have not fixed it yet, I trust that this is the problem.

SOURCE: trac off light comes on a 2003 pontiac grand am

This is the TCS or Traction Control System. It helps keep the vehicle from being able to get stuck by forcing the torque to either tire. Usually there is a switch either on the dash or on the shifter that says TCS or TRAC press the switch and it should go off.

SOURCE: i have a 99 grand

you will need a scan tool to properly diagnose this problem accurately.but i can tell you that the most common problem is wheel speed sensors and or their wiring.

Our ABS light stays on constantly .Lose brake pedal occasionly. Replaced brake pads, caliphers, rotors. Still have ABS light on and lose brake partically.

If you have brake fade that is if you hold the brake pedal down and it slowly goes down to the floor you probably need a master cylinder

I have a 2001 Sequoia replaced connectors to battery. Now E brake light ABS light Trac Off and VSC Trac light are on. I disconnected ground and let it sit. Had code ran and it said open closed circuit abs?...

More than likley its your VSC computer (VSC Trac, VSC Off, E brake and ABS brake lights all lit). This problem has been sited on other Sequoias that had the TSB brake caliper/rotor upgrade (recall) and that more than likely the VSC software or computer was not updated to meet the demands of the newly installed brake upgrade.

Abs light and trac control light stay lit

most times it is a sensor that is located around the brake area that needs replaced. Changing brakes will not fix abs light..ABS stands for anti brake system and has nothing to do with replacing brakes or rotors. It pervent your brakes from locking up and causing you to loose control of car. hope this helps and good luck and please rate this post....

I have 1999 grandam se 4 cylinder trac light and abs light stays on,how do i get it to go off?i have replaced front and back brakes already.also my coolant light keep coming on and all coolant leaks...

replaced front and back brakes already ??? This has nothing to do with the ABS ,traction control is part of the anti-lock brake system . Light's on DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored in the ABS control module . Sorry but , your best bet ,take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop , before you hurt yourself. Take's year's to learn how to diagnose these electronic control systems

ABS light and Trac Cont light stay on....

Check your rear brakes and inside the rear Rotors. There are ABS scanners and if Autozone or Oreillys have that type of scanner, they will scan for free.

Because the Trac Control is on the Rear axle all of your problems are probably rearward. What usually happens is the Emergency brake material and the Rotor pads wear down and blind the sensors. Sometimes the Trac Control will destroy the brake linings. The Trac Control works by applying the rear brake to the fastest spinning wheel in an effort to match each rear wheels speed.

When the sensors have debris flying in front of them, they miscount and include the debris in figuring RPM. Someone needs to disassemble and inspect the back brakes.

Abs light on and trac off light on new front brakes recently installed

First thing I would check if brakes were installed is that the abs wires did not accidentally get disconnected. If that did not occur you will need a scan tool to determine why the abs light came on. It is probably due to a bad wheel speed sensor. The trac light is on because currently your abs is disabled and the traction control requires use of the abs system to function.

I put the car in gear this morning and the abs service vehicle and trac off light came on and won't go off I also fixed a small leak on the tranny

CHECK TO SEE IF YOU HAVE TRANSMISSION FLUID ON FRONT BRAKE ROTOR OR BRAKE PADS.IF BRAKES CONTAMINATED THE TRAC LIGHT AND ABS LIGHT WILL COME ON.IF ALL LOOKS GOOD LET DEALERSHIP CHECK OUT THE ABS BRAKES AND TRAC SYSTEM.THEY HAVE TO USE DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

ABS light is on and no traction light is on. I have a Pontiac Grand Prix 2001 gt. Light stays on always. I don't feel a problem with the brakes.

Check around all wheels to make sure the wires going to the wheel are intact and plugged in tightly. I had the same thing on my 2000 G.P. GT, in my case it was just a broken wire to one of the wheels.
