IAC idle air ?ontrol valve or idle mixture

I would check for any codes, even if the check engine light is off. These Cars had a few different problems like this. The first is the Cam or Crank sensor failing. The second is the Timing belt jumping a tooth due to not replacing it at or around 60k. Ive seen this many times, With an advanced timing belt, it will run well, if not better than normal at cruising speeds but can cause stalling at low RPM, erratic idle, rough idle, lake of power from take off.

This is starting to sound very much like a blocked catalytic converter on the exhaust system. Try unbolting the exhaust in front of the catalytic unit and see if it will start and run normally. If it does then the unit needs replacing, if not then thats me tapped out for ideas.

Has it ever been tune up,

Code 37 is torque converter clutch solenoid failure. Transmission wont shift in and out of overdrive.

It can be issue with IAC( idle air control valve) causing the problem.

Generally YES.

Most modern engines will idle higher (up to 2000rpm) when starting from cold. As the engine reaches proper operating temperature, the idle should slowly return to around the 700rpm mark (depending on Hyundai's specifications), with no accessories turned on.

If you were to engage an accessory such as Air-conditioning, your engine will then increase its idle speed to compensate for the additional load and to prevent stalling when stopping.

An idle speed of 1.5 (ie 1.500rpm) when engine is hot and parked up, would indicate there is a problem somewhere. This condition will consume unneccessary fuel.

There are many possibilities causing an increase in idle speed.

Have your vehicle diagnostics checked first - this will identify if any sensors/solenoids are not functioning correctly or if there could be possible vacuum leaks. You must do this, before attempting to correct idle speed.

During rough idling, when the clutch is released due to high rpm of the engine, the engine may stalls. Another possible reason due to quick release of clutch pedals.

First tune the idling of the engine. Look for the cleaness of the air filter, Fuel lines are clear for free flow. Check the spark plugs for free from carbons and gaps are maintained correctly.

When slowing down the car change to appropriate gears and netural the gears when about to stop.
