The ECM (Electronic control module) runs the engine and the emission control system, the BCM (Body control module) operates most electrical body functions like wipers and interior lights and power windows and door locks plus the security system in may cases, the ECM (on this car now known as the PCM since 1996 by federal mandate) can be flashed, which just a reprogramming of the EPROM chip
get the code, the 02's most likely have nothing to do with this problem. The 02's purpose is to tell the PCM you have a fueling issue or misfire issue. The fact that the light is flashing tells me you have a misfire going on and they are doing thier job. Why pay 100 bucks for a part that wont fix this when you can pay someone 100 buck to tell you what your problem is.
Check Fuses All Of Them Under Hood, Dash ect...., Check Fuseable Links Make Sure Check Engine Light on dashboard is on ....Probe ECM For Answers like Cam Sensor,Crank Sensor ect...just example...but i would probe ECM Memory for answers..hope this helps
If it's a 3.8 it should have a 130 amp alternator. Sounds like you have a 110 amp alternator and not putting out enough amperage. Ecm thinks that since it's only getting 110 amps instead of 130 amps, something is wrong, so it's warning you that there is a problem.
sounds like you have a number of problems.
a. hazard lights and no head lamp dimming and no turn indicator, most likely the multi function switch has failed. but check the bulbs first.
b. head lamp bulb is burnt
c.side mirror switch is disconected or has failed
i recommend using a DTC reader to check the codes 1st but i suspect the transmission range sensor. it gives out due to a poorly placed master brake cylinder. the switch leaks and causes electrical problems with the TRS and other units connected in the wireing harness directly below the brake pressure switch.
did you get the ecm flash programmed? newer vehicles require the ecm to be flash programmed before they are installed your dealer and some auto parts stores can do this for you it usually runs around $90.
means that the motor is having to add more fuel because there is a vacuum leak, or clogged fuel filter, or bad maf sensor. If this motor has a 3.8 v6 it needs the upper intake manifold seals replaced, along with new isolator bolts (they have rubber seals on em). Then when all done have the ecm reflashed with latest flash. I have done lots of them they are not that hard a mechanic should be able to handle it in about 2 or 3 hours. Including flashing the pcm.
