My car won't start after I drove in the rain, what could be wrong? Could it be something electrical like fuses or something that got wet?

I was driving to the shops when it started raining. When i was done shopping the car wouldn't start.

SOURCE: Cruise control quit working a couple of weeks ago.

You can try to reset the cruise control system by disconnecting the battery from car terminals, wait for 5 minutes, and reconnect back the battery. But be sure to have the original radio code if necessary, before battery disconnection.

i would think it may be a distributor cap or wires as they are the only things that when wet are a problem like you mention or the coil may have carbon tracking try looking at coil and cap at night when dark and see if you see any arcing if you do there is your problem

My 2004 Alero has a problem when it rains. It won't start after it was rained and it seems to me that something is getting wet under the hood and causing this that I have to let it sit after it rains,...

I doubt anything is getting wet, but you could be right on a bad connection. You could have enough humidity in the air after a rain to cause a weak connection to fail completely. It could also be a faulty relay.
Someone would need to figure out if you are lacking spark to the plugs or fuel pressure when it fails to start, then track down why.

Why won't my car start? It was running last night.

Try start the car again when it is completely dry, if it starts the rain may be short circuiting something on the loom in the engine bay.

If it still wont start,

will it turn over? (car tries to start)
- If it wont turn over the battery would be dead

- If it turns over but wont burst into life then we can go from there ^_^

When it rains car won't start

Get a can of starting fluid from the parts store, next time it fails to start spray the fluid into the air intake to the engine, if it starts you have a failing electric fuel pump inside the gads tank.

Pontiac montana over heated dexcool whent everywhere will not start just clicks

If the car was running when this happened and now it won't start, I would have to take a look at the starter to see if it got wet and make sure it is not shorted out. Also the wiring from the battery to the starter may be wet and shorting as well as something in the fuse box. IF it is clicking then I suspect you have some power to the starter but not enough to turn it over. If you ran the car for a while after it was wet you could have damaged the altenator and it may not be charging the battery and the battery may be drawn down to where you don't have enough amps to start the car. Try jump starting to see if it is related to the battery if not then start looking for electrical shorts in the wiring to the starter.

Drove car thru water. Car died instantaly. water was knee deep. Pushed car out of water. will not turn over now.???

when you say it won`t turn over do you mean it tries to turn over with the starter or it won`t start.if you mean it won`t turn over then when it dries out a bit(water has drained from electrical components)try it again.if it still wont then its possible it may have sucked up water into the cylinder.pull the plugs and try to turn the motor over.if it does then this is the problem.if you mean it won`t start then let it dry still for water in a component may cause electrical issues when wet.just suggestions.

No problem when fine, but when it starts to rain it is a nightmare. I can start the car when it rains but after I've drove the car, if its only down the road, it seems to get wet and won't start. It needs...

Rain going to inside...could be radiators, thermostat,.... air filter,.... spark plugs,...or alternator. Look like need replace. The motor doesn't like water. When you drove on downhill?

Or... its cold start? could be throttle or carby need lubricant spray. Spark plugs need new aswell or clean. For start up to quick.
