Sounds as if there is a short in the ignition system, clicking sounds when the key is engaged usually means a weak battery or the juice isnt reaching the starter due to a malfunction in your ingition system.

Check the wires to your starter, if there all good then you may have a bad starter and need it replaced. Good luck and keep me posted.

SOURCE: wont start and clicking

Either low battery, bad cable connection on the battery, but most likely the starter is toast.

SOURCE: Won't turn over - rapid clicks - panel lights flicker

jump start the vehicle and check the charging system, could be your battery is sulfated, or it could be a bad starting system odd chance it could be the starter. if you have a digital multimeter handy, get a jump and check for the voltage at the battery terminals with the engine runing, anything less then 13.8 and its not charging, optimal is 14.2v dc.

With ignition key turned on instrument panel light up but only a faint click heard. new battery

Sounds like you may have a bad starter or solenoid on the starter. But before you pull the starter do this check, turn the headlights on and then turn the key to start while someone is looking at the headlights, if they go out then check the new battery and make sure it is fully charged. If the headlights don't dim down or go out and you are still hearing a click then you will want to check the starter and solenoid because it must be getting power or else the solenoid would not be kicking in. Hope this helps.

Why will my jeep not start

Likely that the "clicking sound" behind the dashboard is the IGNITION RELAY. Start by replacing the ignition relay (inexpensive and easy to replace).

2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE security system wont let car start

first most GM OEM systems will need to recognize the key first and foremost ,to do that you will need to roll window down on driver door, turn the key to the run position and with engine NOT running leave the key on for 10 minutes exactly ..then turn ignition off then try to start engine. if original system is working engine should start normally

Reset change oil light

To reset the system, you must do the following:
  1. With the ignition key to ON, push the RESET button located in the driver's side instrument panel fuse block.
  2. When the CHANGE OIL light starts to flash, press and hold the RESET button again. The reset is complete when you hear the chimes sound and the CHANGE OIL light goes out.

Sound like your fuel pump quit working. That is what makes the buzzing sound from the back. Sometime if you have someone that can help you you can bang on the gas tank while turning it over to get it started to get it home.

Truck wont turn over hear a clicking sound

Assuming your battery is fully charged it sounds like a starter.

The click you are hearing is the solenoid switch on the starter (basically a relay). Turn the key on and off a few times while someone give the starter a good few wackes with a piece of wood or other hard object. When it starts to crank over hold the key in the start position until it starts....then drive to the parts store and buy a new starter.

Cheers,

Kevin

Car wont turn over

Sounds like you have a bad starter. To check this you can try taking a hammer to the starter and tap it while someone in the car turns the key. If it starts you know you have a bad starter and need to replace it. Hope this helps you out
