SOURCE: 1994 Dodge Caravan rear brakes won't wear out.

Yes, this is very normal. You'll replace the front 3 times before you'll have to replace the rears. The reason for this is because 80% of your braking is in the front. There is nothing wrong with your brake system.

SOURCE: need instructions on how to replace rear drum

1/2 ton drums just slide off after the wheels have been remove. you might have to hit the drum with a hammer on the inner side by the backing plate because they wear a grove after a while making them hard to remove.

SOURCE: how do you remove the rear glass on a 1997 dodge

You can start by pulling the interior back by the rear window. There are two tabs on both ends on the bottom frame, you can bend them straight.Try to pull the bottom of the window out and watch out for the hinges to carefully lift up the window itself.

How do I tell if the rear brakes on my 1997 dodge stratus are anti-lock brakes?

If you have anti-lock brakes you should have extra brake lines and a pump in front of the master cylinder.

Changed rear brake lines

-Double check. No leaking....?
-If not leaking. When you bleed it. you might need some one to help you pump the brake.
-Make sure Pump the brake (Hole down still)/Now open or release the fluid and Closed BEFORE release the brake pedal. Repeat this until no bubble. And make sure the fluid reservoir never empty to Bottom.
You should be good to go.

Very little (almost nonexistent) rear brakes. Cannot stop rear wheels even with wheels off the ground. Replaced MC, wheel cyl.,Rubber hose, booster, proportioning valve, bypassed rear ABS, shoes, drums,...

What happens when you try to bleed the rear brakes? If nothing comes out, trace each line back toward the proportioning valve--something would be blocking flow of fluid. Disconnect each line at the forward end and see if fluid comes out of the valve openings. You will need a scan tool to complete the bleeding process with ABS. Suggest buying a Chilton's manual for this truck because of the complexity of the ABS system.
