Are you sure you need to replace the knob i have had this problem on 2 cars in my time at mits and both time we ordered in a cable and box and i only ended up replacing the cable which is not to hard you will need to get under your dash with a light and find the cables move the knob with ine of your hands will watching the cables you should see one of the cables moving this will be the one you need to replace you may be able to just reposition it but if not find both ends and remove it and fit the new one.
it is not to hard to do but it is fidle you may need to remove the glove box if the cable is on that side

any way have a look and let me no wat you see and ill try to walk you through it

1998 lincoln town car heat control not working steering wheel controls not working

strip out the heater control panel ,the knobs just pull off check that the control cable is attached to the heat selector if it is follow cable back to the heater box a check it is still connected to the flap control .two semi circular toothed components , the steering wheel controls may be a fuse so check fuse box under dash but if the heater cable has broken/pulled off this may just have dislodged the wiring connector to the wheel controls if both happened at same time let me know how you get on

2003 Lancer OZ Can't turn the knob from AC to heat. Help!!

The wire has been bent. If you work the switch twisting gently you can actually get it to switch over from cool to heat. The only way to fix it is to replace the wires for the coolant switch. Rest assured you are not the only one with this problem. Just don't force it. Gently turn back and forth till it moves over.

Have a 2002 nissan altima and i am not getting any heat..i keep hearing about some knob you can turn under the steering wheel to manually set it to just heat but i cant find where it is please help me...

Your nissan has no such knob.

if your not getting any heat first check that you have coolant in the radiator and its full.

second you may have a problem with the blend door not working right.

any mechanic or a/c shop can help you with this

Tempature control knob

There's a white lever under the dash near the steering wheel. You can change from heat to cold with that instead of the knob! If you look under there you'll see it and just push it up for heat pull towards yourself for cold.

2003 Lancer AC knob wont switch all the way over to heat...

this is due to the cable behind the dash kinking when you move the knob at worst you may need a new cable at best you can try to get your head under the dash and reposition the cable eg. cable tie it over to one side so it dosn't kink

its not to hard to do just a little hard to get to good luck

Lancer 2002, change heater control switch

contrary to what the dealership tells you you don't have to take out the entire dash to fix the heater switch, all you have to do is first locate a heater switch which I thought was imposible to find too, but I found one online for 165 bucks from a used autoparts store, then all you do is take off the molding that surrounds your stereo, then take out your stereo, then you will see a blue cable on the right side and a black one on the left carefully disconnect those and the two wireing harnesses in the back the upper one is white the lower is black, then pull the unit out and put the other back in the same way, now it's still going to stick cause of those moron engineers so if you kneel on the ground and look next to your gas pedal you will see to pieces of white plastic that is why you can't switch to heat that flimsy cabel has to push that gear forward, that gear is sticky so it won't go forward, there is a replacement gear to fix that problem that should be about 18.00 from the dealership. it took me about an hour or less to do the whole operation. I just literally finished it 20 minutes ago in my wifes lancer which i broke that knob off of. Good luck if you havent figured it out yet.

Temperature control knob in lancer

I have the same problem.... It is an easy thing to fix. What it is, is the cable has jamed up in the casing, but you can manually pull and push the cable. On the drivers side of the car under the steering wheel above the gas/brake pedals there should be a bunch of wiring. To the right of all the wiring and mess there should be a cable if you reach in far enough. It will probablly take you a while to find it. It would most likley be surrounded by white plastic. once you find the cable you can pull it and push it, When you do pull/push it you will see the knob turn on your console.

No heat from Heater 2003 Lancer

check the heat selector is too tight, then look under the driver side on the right to check the white heat selector is jam. You can see a black cable connected to it. Turn the heat selecter knob and check see whether it move freely. good luck.
