You can run 89 octane without any issues, no need to run the premium unless it states it in the manual or on the dash.

SOURCE: charge light flashes and becomes solid when my mazda 626 idles

Hi,

Initially, there are only a limited number of reasons why the charge indicator would light up:

  • broken/loose belt;
  • detached/loose/corroded main alternator connection;
  • defective alternator;
  • defective battery.
Since the battery is new, that would leave us with the first three (3) possibilities. Of the three, the first two could be inspected/checked even by the user. A suspected alternator would have to be bench tested to confirm if faulty. Often problem with these alternators are a defective built-in regulator. In most instances, it would be more practical to replace the alternator (if found defective) rather than to repair and just replace the regulator.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: Mazda 626 turbo 1990 power steering cuts out

is your pump belt slipping?  To change the oil you need to remove a hose, drain the fluid and replenish.  However, I have a feeling that you need anew pump or your rack and pinion is binding.  And these are items that need replacement.

4. Remove the attaching screws from the fuel pump/sending unit access cover and remove the cover.

5. Disconnect the fuel supply and return hoses from the fuel pump/sending unit.

6. Remove the attaching screws and the fuel pump/sending unit from the fuel tank.

7. Detach the sending unit electrical connector, remove the sending unit attaching nuts and remove the sending unit from the fuel pump assembly.

7. Connect the negative battery cable, start the engine and check for proper system operation and for fuel leaks.

How do you depressurize the fuel system

Usually you pull the fuel pump fuse or relay and start the engine.
When it stops running the fuel pressure is lower than 10psi.

I own a 1990 Mazda 626. It continues to run hot, no matter how much coolant or water I put in the radiator or tank. I think my bypass hose is cracked and my radiator cap is broken. When I stop, shut it...

have you checked your
thermostat, most of the time it is that make sure that you check that your water pump is also working if after you have checked all this you must check and flush your whole radiator system.
