Blinker problems with 97 Camry

97 Camry LE 2.2 4cyl. I can go for a month or so with normal blinkers on both sides, and then randomly (sometimes when it is already blinking normally) the RH blinker will start blinking very fast. This is generally an indication that a bulb is blown (in an American car). But there are no blown bulbs. Is this an issue with the "Light Out" sensor located in the trunk or an issue with the blinker circuit?

Actually I found that my RH front blinker bulb connector was damaged and was just barely making connection. I've replaced it and now had no problems.

I have the same thing in my car ! I'm not sure about why this fixes the problem, but you just have to gently hit the area above the light. turn your blinker on, give the area above the light a smack, and it will go back to normal. At least it does on mine.. I do this about once every 2 months.

May be an issue with the bulb(s) loosing it's ground. Remove bulbs and make sure that the base is clean and touching the sides. ALso that the socket is making proper ground with the car body.Sand clean if necessary.

Blinker, cruise issues...electrical?

The problem is caused by the emergency flasher unit. This is a common problem and you can find a few youtube demos on replacing it. I did it in about 30 mins. I don't remember the cost but it was stocked at my local chevy dealership.
good luck.

Fast Blinker

Usually a fast turn signal means that there is a light out. You should probably check all of your lights, including back-up lights, and turn signals. If there is one out then replacing the burnt out bulb should fix the problem.

Random RH blinker issues, sometimes normal, sometimes really fast

If a dual element bulb develops a condition where both filaments touch together even momentarily will produce a fast flash too. Replace the offending bulb.

Turn signal does not work sometimes

If the problem occurs on either side, the blinker relay is getting tired.
These are mostly located under the dashboard and may be in a cylindrical can plugged into a mating connector.

If it is happening only on one side, you may have a corroded lamp socket or the bulb itself.
When the standard thermal blinker relay is used and a problem with contact or a complete bulb failure occurs, your dash indicator will blink more rapidly than usual since the blinker relay is dependent on having a certain amount of current flowing through it which controls the blink frequency.
