Question about 1999 Kia Sportage
My five speed has been having difficulties with the gear shifter. It won't let me go into fifth whatsoever, and sometimes it is difficult to get it into reverse. I have no problem shifting into the third and fourth while not moving, but while driving they sometimes can be sticky, first and second gear are golden. The car runs wonderfully other than that, idles well, sounds well while driving, but it seems like there's some kind of blockage that is not letting me get it into gear - no grinding of the transmission, it just won't let me get the stick over far enough to engage the gear. Any ideas?

Dear vdizon it seems your bearings are slipping inside your transmission.
This is usually caused by inproper use or stress to the transmission. Changing gears at high revs and double clutching may have caused the bearings to wear, or a service on the gearbox has not been performed by factory recomendation. I advise you to book your car into your mechanic to confirm the problem before the proble escalades.
I hope this has helped you.
