You have a major leak, most likely your oil pan gasket.

SOURCE: oil leak on drivers side 2005 saturn ion ,just had oil change last week

if you look at the front of the engine from the top there is a plastic cover with a 1 1/4'' bolt head that is the oil filter housing the cover has a oring seal on it at times the oring gets torn when installed

SOURCE: Excessive oil use

the time it takes to use one quart is not the figure I need, how many miles does three weeks represent? 1000 miles per quart is ok, less and you will need new rings in most cases, which of course means an engine overhaul.

SOURCE: 1998 Saturn SL2 smell of wax paperburning after

Sounds like you spilled a little oil on the engine when you added oil. Don't worry it will burn off by itself as long as you don't have an oil leak somwhere. If the smell doesn't go away after running the engine for 50 miles or so have a shop check the engine for oil leaks.

SOURCE: Oil leak

probably a pan leak ... if the head was leaking like that you would be mixing up a storm....

SOURCE: 2003 saturn ion adding antifreeze every 2 weeks cannot find leak

There should be a radiator cap as it controls what goes into the overfill tank. You might consider replacing it. If there are no leaks in the radiator or hoses, there are only 3 places the coolant can go (water pump leak, blown gasket, or out throught the radiator cap). Hope its the cap because that's the cheapest. Good luck!

My 1998 Saturn sl2 is constantly leaking oil from the valve cover, what is the best fix.

You have to apply a dab of RTV sealant where the timing chain assembly meets the cylinder head. And you have to be very careful when tightening the valve cover bolts. Overtightening causes leaks.

1996 Saturn sl2 smoke problem not head gasket no antifreeze seeping in valve cover gasket leaks and losing about a quart and a half of oil no blue smoke kinda white but heavy a little stops driving

White coming out the tail pipes is coolant/water. Doesn't mean the head gasket is blown, but you'll wish it was. Could be a cracked head. They can crack inside the intake or exhaust port. This would still give you a good compression reading. If in the intake, you would have a misfire. Exhaust you wouldn't. As far as the blue goes. It is mostly white in color, with a hint of blue color. Loosing that much oil would be a major leak or the rings are shot. Rings being shot, you would see that blueish tint in the smoke.

The water pump on our 1998 Saturn SL2 1.9 litre engine broke the pulley while driving it. My wife then drove back about 10 miles and decided to stop and called me to go get her and the car. I pulled it...

most likely a bad head from driving it 10 miles with no engine cooling
being a saturn it could also be a crack in the block, i would get it to a shop for diagnostics
it is best that the engine is not started or run until repairs are made to prevent further damage

My 1992 saturn keeps failing the emissions test due to high HC GPM readings. The PCM indicates no problems. I was told that alot of saturns have this problem. I"ve done everything when it comes to a tune...

it is probably bunring oil which is causing this,,,if it is burning oil you can try this to help it,sometimes it works and other times it doesnt,,,,,get the car good and hot, remove the spark plugs and get top engine cleaner and dump it into the plug hole, let it sit overnight if you can,,,,disconnect the ignition module and put rags over the plug hole and crank the engine a few minutes with breaks inbetween to get all the left over cleaner out the engine,,,,then plug the ignition module in and put the plugs in,it may smoke really really bad,,,just keep running it,,you may have to put foot on gas to start it,,,,,let it burn all the **** out the cylinders and then change the oil and get new plugs and that should help the oil burning if it is a oil burner and hopefully help the emission readings,,

Possible blown head gasket. Big problem . Have that checked immediately by a engine coolant pressure leak-down test. You can lose your engine and pronto! Small amount of coolant possible passing into crankcase or/and the cylinders.

1994 saturn sl2 automatic, with really bad oil leak.

There are only two paths for oil there. The rear main, and a oil galley plug a little higher up, about 2 o'clock.
