Hi I have a 2000 jeep cherokee sport 4dr 4x4 windshield washer does not work for windshield, and rear window, also intermitted wipers do not work. My question if any one knows? how many pumps are there for the washing unit. 1 for the front and 1 for the back?, or just 1 pump for both. If it was a faulty pump why don't the intermitted wipers work. could it be the multi fuction switch on the steering column?

You have a motor for the front and rear washer. Check the fuses. If the intermitted wipers does not work, there is a relay under the dash near the steering colum that needs to be replaced.
the answer: "You have a motor for the front and rear washer" is ambiquous.Pick 1- you have two mototors, one for each or 2 you have 1 motor for both, Elsewhere for a cherokee of a different year it is suggested you remove the inside fender cover and switch lines between motors to see if the problem is the motor, Obviously someone thinks that there are two ww fluid for that Jeep. With the cost of a motor and the trouble removing the inside fender, it is important to get the correct info before proceeding.
