Mazda 6 passenger window won't go up!!!

06 Mazda 6 passenger window won't go up! Ever since I got the car the passenger side window wouldn't go up using the driver side controls. Recently the window would get stuck even using the drivers side control but worked after like a day. Now it's happening again and I can't get the window up. What do I do to get the controls working again?

It sounds like it could be the window solenoid, or the window motor. It's unlikely the switches on both doors are bad. Check the solenoids and motors...

  • Anthony Danisi Oct 17, 2012

I don't think it's the motor because the window won't move at all and happened sporadically. How do I check the selenoid and how much potentially would the replacement cost?

  • Anonymous Oct 18, 2012

Not sure on either of those, I 've never tested the solenoid myself - that's one fo those things the mechanic would have to check. When the motors are dying, they occasionally work sporadically before kicking the bucket...

SOURCE: can't control passenger window in mazda 6

Passenger window lost programing. To reprogram, turn the key on, go to the passenger side and with the passemger switch run the window all the way down and hold switch in down position for 2 seconds, then run all the way up and hold in up position for 2 seconds, then repeat again within 5 seconds. Should work from drivers side master switch now.

SOURCE: Passenger window won't work using the driver side control switch

Open the window with the local button and keep the button pressed for 3 seconds after it has fully opened. Then close the window and keep the button pressed for 3 seconds after it has fully closed. This calibrates the position of the window which it lost when you changed the battery. Good luck

I have a 2006 mazda 6 automatic 6 speed. The passenger window continues to roll down by itself while the car is in transit as well as shut down. I travel a lot. Here it goes again

You could try disconnecting the switch wires for the passenger side when the window is up. If the window stays put then simply buy a new switch or live without an opening passenger window.

2007 mazda 6 front and rear driver and rear passenger windows not working.

The windows need to be re-learned.
- Park the car on level floor. Shift the gear lever to P or N. Pull up the hand brake. Start the engine.
- Sit on driver's seat. Lower the driver side window. Keep the button pressed for three to four Seconds after the window glass sits completely.
- Move up the window glass and do the same as above.
- Do the same with passenger side window glass while sitting on the passenger seat.
- Repeat the same procedure for rear windows one by one from their own buttons.
- Sit on a drivers seat and operate all the windows one by one.
Note:
If the problem persists, pull up the body diagnostic error codes with Diagnostic computer or re-learn the windows with the same machine.

1988 Mazda rx7 window won't raise or lower

Its either the switch or the window regulator. They all 'live' on the passenger side by the way. I have had both replaced on passenger side over the years on my '88 convertible and guess what? Passenger side window decided not to go up today..down yes..up no so I hope its just a switch. She goes into the hospital Monday. Good luck with yours.

Yesterday I had the passenger's side window motor

Disconnecting the battery will cause this. It happened on my Mazda 6 and there should be instructions in your manual.
It will be something like this:

1. Turn ignition switch to "on" position.
2. Open passenger window completely from passenger side window switch.
3. Close passenger window completely from passenger side window switch, and hold switch for an additional 2 seconds.
4. Turn ignition back to "lock" position.

Auto down window function stopped workin after new battery

Close the window all the way, hold the up button for about 3 seconds, release and check if auto close/open is working.
Do the same to the passenger window.

That's it. Works like a champ. And here you thought it was more than just a battery dying....I did.
