Nissan 1990 pathfinder doors won't unlock

Auto club techs have special tools that can reach around the window and unlock in such a situation. They have done so for me.

Unlock all doors with the key or the key fob. Manually push down and pull up on the one door lock giving trouble. Leave it in the unlocked position and try again both with the inside handle and the outside on. If no go, you will need to get into the door..or take the problem to an expert..this will be cheaper than ripping into the door card etc. a locksmith may also know a trick or two about getting in without damage.

This is usually caused by broken plastic parts in the lock system. The best would be to verify and lub all locks and check out the elecrical.

follow the positve cable to the fuse box, there will be large fuses there, check those first.

can you manually unlock the lock and open the door?? Is it more than one door or just one specific door? If its just one door, yourcactuator inside the door may be bad or you have a wire issue. If its all the doors, more than likely you blew a fuse or a relay(id say fuse)

You probably need to grease the doors' hardware, and the child safety lock is on. Let the windows down, and you can use a coat hanger to unlock the doors, Then lubricate the locking mechanisms on each doors' jam.

I had a similar problem. I noticed one of my door handles (passenger side) had a little key engraved on it with a small slot under it. I inserted my key into that slot to pry the cover out. Underneath was a hidden keyhole which fit the pathfinder key perfectly and opened the passenger door. I could not find this solution in the manual - so simple - yet stressful.

To open the tailgate on a 1990 Nissan Pathfinder just insert the key in the lock and turn to the left, then pull the handle to open. To open just the window, turn key to the right.

There is also a small lever next to the latch on the tailgate that you push in to re-lock the tailgate before closing it.

2006 Nissan Pathfinder rear passanger doors don't open unless opened from insinde handle first. Then will open all the time until central locking is used then same problem occurs

Will the key open the tailgate window? Then climb in and unlock the doors / bonnet from inside.
