Cossover pipe for chevy s10 4wd 4.3 pickup truck

I have a 97 chevy s10 4wd pickup truck. need to replace o2 sensor though the pipe is bad. At o2 bung outer pipe crumbled. Need to replace the pipe though can't find aftermarket crossover. Pipe has 3 sensors, muffler shop says cost $400 to fabricate and I supply sensors. The shop also indicates that sensor placement is critical to avoid kicking codes. Any clues to where crossover pipe can be purchased?

One thing to check is the fuel pressure regulator.
If the diaphram is leaking it will cause gas to be pulled into the vacuum system causing lots of white smoke and extreme rough running.

SOURCE: O2 sensor problem, running rich. Please help

was the code for rich or lean? may try cleaning mass air flow sensor. it is in the air intake tube and has a flat wire connector. take out of tube and take four torx bolts out and clean with mass air flow cleaner or brake cleaner and put back in when dry. or it could be a bad wire on the o2 harness. look for chaffing or broken wires in harness by o2. also could be the exhaust system has a slight blockage. could also be some other things but try these first.

SOURCE: 2000 chevy silverado z71 check engine light will not go off.

you have to know what the code is that your truck putting out your truck has 4 O2 sensors. the trucks computer is smart and the code will tell you witch one is bad but if you replace just one the next one on the same exhaust pipe will probley go bad so its safe to replace all four. the draw back to replaceing all of them is thay cost about 80 bucks for one ACDelco O2 sensor. It has to be done before it will pass Emissions. not a hard part to change about a 7/8 open end wrench will take it off. have fun.

SOURCE: o2 sensors in a 97 gmc 1500 with 5.7 liter

bank 1 is the drivers side bank, so b1s1 would be the drivers side closest to the engine. if the truck is equipped with several 02 sensors then bank 2 or b2s1 would be passenger side closest to the engine. those are called upstream o2 sensors and the others downstream b1s2 and b1s2 b= bank 1= drivers side s=sensor 2=downstream. hope this helps.

Anrez, your 1991 Chevy trucks O2 sensor could be located in the Y pipe just ahead of converter or in the front portion of the converter.

Where are the 02 chevy impala 3.8L o2 sensor locations, I only see three. the top bank one sensor 1 is stripped out, how do i get that one out?

you can apply pressure to the sensor while undoing it to force it out or you will have to cut out the thread area and get an O2 sensor bung hole replacement at an auto supply store and weld into place and install a new O2 sensor. bank 1 sensor 1 is located in the front pipe off the manifold that has cylinder #1 on and bank 2 sensor 1 is on the side that cylinder #2 is on like sensor 1. sensor 3 is the one just before the cat.

How to change upstream o2 sensor on 2008 chevy uplander 3.9l ?

  • 1 Warm up the engine for about four minutes to bring it to operating temperature. Then turn off the engine. This will avoid damage to the exhaust pipe threads if that sensor has seized to the pipe.
  • 2 Find the oxygen sensor or sensors you need to replace. The upstream sensor is located near the exhaust manifold and the downstream sensor on the back exhaust pipe, close to the catalytic converter.
  • 3 Disconnect the oxygen sensor electrical connector. Depending on your particular Chevy model, both sensors may be disconnected from the engine compartment.
  • 4 Lift the front of your Chevy model to reach the sensor you need to change, if necessary. Use a floor jack and two jack stands to support it.
  • 5 Remove the oxygen sensor using a box-end wrench or a ratchet and oxygen-sensor socket.

    P0421 for 2003 eclipse

This is usually caused when someone either gutts their cat or uses a test pipe..causes the secondary o2 to read high..cheap fix is to buy a set of spark plug anti foulers. You drill out one enough to where you can screw the o2 sensor into it then screw the drilled one into the undrilled one then screw the combo back into the o2 bung and reset the ecu by unplugging the ecu or just remove the negative bat post for 10sec with one door open.this will stop the code unless your o2 sensor is bad but the secondary usually dont go bad 1b62c4e1-507d-45ee-97ef-b254330bfec4.jpeg

You should have 4 O2 sensors and it sounds to me like the wrong one was replaced. Bank 1 Sensor 2.

Oxygen sensor for 1999 ford explorer

97 ane 97 have 4. I will assume that yours does too.

    Go under Explorer.
Trace exhaust maniford from engine to catalytic converter.... in that path, you will find an O2 sensor (looks like a spark plug right in the exhaust pipe).

    Same item on other side.

Now, sad part. You MAY find 2 more O2 sensors just after the converter!!

Autozone can usually do a free diagnostic on your vehicle and tell you which 1 or 2 sensors are bad.

    O2 sensor problem

I have a 97 gmc sierra .This truck is the same as the chevy ok.Its a 350 5.7 liter 4x4 Z71.I took it to auto zone which was my first mistake. They put it the scanner and said bad O2 sensor.Ok so which one is it i said. They dont know.Well there four (4) O2 sensors in this truck i hope you know that.I had to replace all four of them before i had to take it to a real shop.It seems the fuel pump i replaced a week earlier with an auto zone fuel pump was bad.Ive changed my feul pump 4 times now and have 235000 miles on still running. You need to get your fuel pressure checked. It should be 65 psi to start it and 55 psi to run it.If the pressures are good it could be a different O2 sensor or maybe the mass air flow senor. My last option would be the fuel pressure regulator because it seems to be a waste of time and money.I would get that fuel pressue checked first.Good luck.

I'm not sure about the rotor cap, but if it is telling you you still have a bad O2 there are about three on it. One up front and two back further by the catalitic converter..
