Last week my car started to chuck a little bit during accelerating in 2nd and 3rd gear (my car is a standard). I put a fuel treatment in my car and filled the car with the assumption that it was just a tank of bad gas but it is still continuing. Today on my way to work the check engine light came on and blink a few times then shut off as soon as I shifted into 4th gear. Several people have been telling me different things to try but I was hoping for something a little more as to why this treatment may make the chucking stop. 1)Use a container of Fuel injector cleaner and fill my tank with supreme fuel. 2)Change the Air filter 3)Change the spark plugs 4)Clean the MAF sensor Also I've look at several images on Google to locate my MAF sensor and they are all different. If someone could post an image for me or a step by step to find it that would be great. Thanks in advance!

I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent, It is not possible to fill the tank if you are letting the petrol pump run at full speed.Trying to fill up quickly it will only build up pressure and cut off. Next time you fill up just pull the petrol pump handle half way, it will take longer to fill but you wont get the blow back. Modern petrol pumps are getting quicker all the time.Hope this helps you.

The problem is the charcoal filter. This is a very common problem on the Hyundai. The charcoal filter is located down behind the drivers side tire, up in the fender well. The fuel tank is not venting properly. This charcoal filter will need to be replaced.

P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected.
Possible Causes:
- Improper spark plug at cylinder #1
- Insufficient compression at cylinder #1
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- The injector circuit is open or shorted at cylinder #1
- Fuel injector #1 may be faulty
- Intake air leak at cylinder
Possible Solutions:
- Perform Injector Service
- Replaced Spark Plug #1
- Replaced Injector #1
- Replaced Ignition Coil #1
Being you have a heavy gas smell I would look into the injectors. If injector #1 is over producing it can cause a misfire. Test your compression and fuel pressure.
