Started car normally let it warm up about 3miles later it started to overheat pulled into gas station checked fluids coolant tank empty and radiator added antifreeze drove 20miles home. ran a few errands afterthis and coolant empty once again checked oil and the reading was excessively high and kinda thick
Intake gasket might cause it if the coolant froze and broke the seal between the head and intake and is leaking directly into the lifter valley
I THINK YOUR HEAD GASKET IS LEAKING WATER IN TO THE OIL .YOU NEED TO GET A PRESSURE TEST DONE ON THE ENGINE . BUT IF THE OIL IS ;LIKE MAYONNAISE THICK AND CREAMY SUBSTANCE AND OIL LEVELIS HIGH THIS IS DUE TO WATER IN THE SUMP..THE HEAD WILL NEED REMOVING TO REPLACE THE LEAKING GASKET ..YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE HAD ENOUGH ANTIFREEZE IN THE COOLING SYSTEM.. AND DUE TO COLD WEATHER ITS HAS FROZEN
Intake manifold gasket can throw off the engine's air-fuel ratio and cause engine performance issues such as misfires, a decrease in power and acceleration, a reduction in fuel efficiency, and even stalling but
what you have is a blown head gasket. Ouch!
SOURCE: Oil in over coolant tank
since you are running green coolant in a car designed for dexcool that may have contributed to a leaky intake gasket and/or head gasket. dexcool was specially formulated to run in the GM vehicles because the gaskets and seals can be easily distorted when the wrong chemicals are soaking them. oil in the coolant is usually either a head gasket or the lower intake manifold leaking into the cooling system. also if the intake gaskets werent done properly that would cause oil in the coolant as well. i suggest you take your car to a reputable shop and have it tested for a headgasket leak and to have the lower intake inspected.
SOURCE: I have oil in the antifreeze. Checked spark plugs
There is no oil in the intake manifold. Assuming you have overhead cams, oil can leak into a coolant jacket past the head gasket or a crack in the head without getting into the combustion chamber. This is likely what has happened. If you need more help, please reply.

Hi hope I can help.
You can remove the spark plugs and inspect the cylinders.
Look and see if any fluids are in the cylinders.
Then you can preform a compression test.
If you find a cylinder with low compression you have a bad head gasket.
If compression is good , your intake gasket has failed.
hope this helps.
